What an amazing community turn out for our Bonbeach LSC Winter Solstice Swim!

Special thanks to our volunteer lifesavers who kept an eye on 100+ of you over the Solstice patrol ❤️💛 and to our club volunteers keeping the fires burning & dancing to warm you up afterwards 🔥🖤🤍🖤🤍

Shout out to Falafel off the Truck for serving all evening as the rain finally came in!

This time on Saturday we'll be in the midst of our Solstice dipping!

will be preparing your orders and the warming fires & fire dancer will be lit 🔥 Join us anytime from 4pm, with the official swim/dip/paddle at 5.07pm for sunset. We'll have the club open to warm you up, tunes playing, and if you'd like to celebrate with us our awards will be a quick half-hour from 6.30pm before we continue to enjoy our winter community together! Please support the food truck as they make a special effort to share their food with us all... there might even be some spare flashy gear for sale if you'd like to join our nippers as they light up the beach! (You can byo marshmallows & stick if you wish!)

PS Did you know you can enjoy a whole weekend of Winter Solstice joy with our local lifesaving clubs?!
Start Friday night 5pm Carrum Surf Life Saving Club for their Winter Swim.
Enjoy Saturday Sunset with food truck & fire at our own Bonbeach Life Saving Club Inc. Winter Solstice Swim/Dip/Paddle - Sunset21 dip is 5.07pm, community social from 4-8pm.
Round out Sunday by visiting Aspendale Life Saving Club Winter Solstice from 3-5pm.

At the end of National Volunteer Week we'd like to share this message from our Lifesaving Operations Manager:

While NVW is a special time to celebrate the dedication and commitment of volunteers for all organisations, I'd like to especially acknowledge our club volunteers and those from our neighbouring clubs who volunteer alongside us.

On behalf of the Lifesaving Operations Team I'd like to extend our thanks to all of our club members for everything you do to keep this club functioning, from our nippers and canteen team who help teach the next generation, those who help with maintenance and administration, our club board and everyone in between, your time and skills do not go unnoticed and we appreciate all you do.

And an extra special shoutout to our operational members, the lifesavers in the red and yellow who give up weekends, public holidays and just about every summers' day over 30 degrees to keep the public safe, we say thank you. And with the amount of incidents we attended last summer that had good outcomes due to your fast and professional response, I think it's clear the community appreciates you too!

So, as National Volunteer Week comes to a close for 2026, we say thank you to everyone who shares their time and passion.
