It has been some time since I`ve had a chance to make a Milestone Post, with such a disjointed season this year, so to those whom it is late notification my apologies.

We had another debutant from the 2nd Round in Hector Vrielynck (Demons Winter Player Number 853) who scored a goal on his debut.

Grove Bennett (DWPN 434) has amassed his 300th Penalty Minute. His career stats to date are 257 Games, scoring 66 Goals, 93 Assists for 159 Points amassing 305 Penalty Minutes. Playing in 7 Senior Premierships, being 1 of only 3 players to play in all the 6 A-Grade Premierships 1997-2001 & 2003. Other players were Danny Gunn (DWPN 435) and Jon Moses (DWPN 391).

Todd Cutter (DWPN 601) has amassed 400+ Penalty Minute. His career stats to date are, 224 Games, scoring 60 Goals, 78 assists for 138 Points, amassing 413 Penalty Minutes, scoring 10 Game Winning Goals

Alexander Bennett (DWPN 784) has played his 50th Game. His career stats to date are 50 Games, scoring 5 Goals, 18 Assists for 23 Points amassing 94 Penalty Minutes.

Jack Carpenter (DWPN 681) has played his 100th Game. His career stats to date are 102 Games scoring 21 Goals, 40 Assists for 61 Points amassing 138 Penalty Minutes.

Jay Pavey (DWPN 531) Has now played his 300th Game. He has also scored his 50th Goal. His career stats to date read, 304 Games, scoring 52 Goals, 78 Assists for 130 Points, amassing 174 Penalty Minutes, scoring 6 Game Winning Goals. Playing 7 Senior Premierships.

Ross Howell (DWPN 470) passed two milestones with his 300th Point and his 200th Penalty Minute.
His career stats read with 291 Games, scoring 140 Goals, 171 Assists for 311 Points, amassing 205 Penalty Minutes, scoring 19 Game Winning Goals and 9 Hat-tricks. Playing in 6 Senior Premiership. Ross also has scored his 6th 20+ Point season, his first since 2003.

Alain Giaugue (DWPN 553) our intrepid Premier A-Grade Goalkeeper, has now passed Club Legend Noel McLoughlin (DWPN 52) for 2nd most games as a Demons Goalkeeper. His career stats read to date are, 160 Games (2 as a skater) taking 3642 Shots (3rd most) allowing 4491 Goals (3rd most) for a Career Saves% of 86.518. He has 69 Career Wins (2nd most) with 20 Shutouts (3rd most). Playing in 2 Senior Premierships.
Mathew Fairbanks (DWPN 537) played a Club Record 289 Games as a Goalkeeper.

Finally, our illustrious Club President Michael Bailey (DWPN 657) has now played his 200th game. His career stats to date are, 200 Games, scoring 51 Goals, 65 Assists for 116 Points, amassing 70 Penalty Minutes. Playing in 3 senior Premierships. Michael has the distinction of being the only player to play in every senior grade the club has skated in. Debuting in RecC in 20011 moving to D-Grade in 2012 then B-Grade from 2013, A-Grade in 2017, and notching one C-Grade game in 2018 just to round it all off.

As a proud recipient of one of these grants, we are excited to see the next generation of female Junior Demons players take on this great game with high-quality gear.
We have nothing but admiration for the NHLPA and their team who work hard behind the scenes to produce these grants.

VICTORIAN TANGE TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR 2026 🏒

Ice Hockey Victoria is proud to announce the Victorian Tange Team that will represent Victoria at the 2026 National Championships in Newcastle from July 15–19.

Led by Head Coach Chris Roach, fresh off guiding the IceHQ Ducks to the 2025 17U championship, the team brings together some of Victoria’s most promising young talent as they prepare to compete against the nation’s best.

Joining Roach behind the bench are Assistant Coach Matt Hochmann and Manager Emma Poynton, who will support the team throughout its preparation and tournament campaign.

Following a highly competitive selection process, the players selected have earned the opportunity to wear the Big V and represent Victoria on the national stage. The squad will now begin its journey towards Newcastle, focusing on development, teamwork, and building a disciplined and winning culture that reflects the pride of Victorian hockey.

Congratulations to all selected players, reserves, and staff. We look forward to following the team’s progress over the coming months and cheering them on at the 2026 National Championships.

Congratulations to Jay Pavey, joining some elite company within the Demons by playing game 300 🎉🏒

Only the 14th Demons have achieved such a wonderful milestone. Jay was a part of our earlier junior program, playing 168 Games and scoring 81 Goals, 97 Assists, totalling 178 Points, between 1995 and 2003.

Jay made his senior debut on 30th July 2000, in a 9-4 win over the Braves and scored his first Senior goal the next night in his A-Grade debut in a 4-5 loss to the Saints. He was a member of our A-Grade Premiership teams in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2009 & 2014 and our B-Grade Premiership teams in 2000 & 2012.

His career stats to date read:
🏒 300 Games
🥅 49 Goals and 75 Assists for 124 Points, including 6 Game Winning Goals.
‍❌ 174 Penalty Minutes

Congratulations on such a great career.

DEMONS JUNIORS - 17U ROUND 1 WIN!

First game. First win. 💙❤️

A proud and memorable moment for our Demons Mustangs U17s team as they kicked off the Winter season.

Eli and Dmitri led the scoreboard with two goals each, while Marcus earned Hardest Worker for his relentless effort, and Liv took out MVP. That said, this was a true team performance — every single player stepped up, brought the intensity, and played for each other.

Coach Rod summed it up perfectly:
“An outstanding team performance — everyone played well, contributed, and backed each other. A fantastic way to start the season, and a great group of kids to be part of.”

Big news for our 17U Demons! 🔥

We’re excited to share an incredible coaching update.
As part of our collaboration with the Mustangs, we’d like to welcome Brody Lindal to our regular coaching squad.

He'll be joining an already outstanding lineup of Rod Johns (head coach), Todd Cutter, Bryan Mackenzie (goalie coach), Jon Moses, Scott Timmins (off-ice gym), and Lyndsay Buchanan (mobility) to help guide our inaugural 17U team in the 2026 season.

Hailing from North America, Brody most recently played in Canada with the Richmond Sockeyes and made a huge impact with the Mustangs last season. We’re thrilled to have him bring his experience and energy to our program.

He said: “Super excited to be a part of the coaching staff and to pass on some of my knowledge to the next generation of young Aussies.”

A new season and a major change with the movement of the D-Grade competition to the summer to allow for more training times and more regular nights for the remaining grades. Friday for Premier-A, mostly Saturday for B-Grade and Monday nights for C-Grade.

Evan White scored at the 0:53 sec mark in the 5-0 win over Ice Wolves on 13/10/25.

Since making his Demons debut on 30th April in 2016 and opening his account with a Hat-trick no less, Kyle Curran (Demons Winter Player Number 733) scored his 50th goal on his return to the B-Grade after missing 2025. His Demons career stats to date read, 106 Games (191 in IHV) scoring 50 Goals, 55 Assists, 105 Points, amassing 171 Penalty Minutes, scoring 8 Game Winning Goals and 2 Hat-tricks.

Our wonderful Jay Pavey (DWPN 531) is on the cusp of joining some elite company when he plays his next game which will be number 300. Only the 14th Demons to achieve such a wonderful milestone.
