Do you have to do HIIT to be fit?
HIIT is a popular solution to people’s health and fitness problem.
But, should you be doing HIIT or if you have why is it not working for you?
1. If you squeeze a 1 hour workout into 20 minutes, then there is a price to pay. It is highly intense and not sustainable or enjoyable for everyone. Which results in lack of consistency and thus lack of results!
2. You are already undergoing too much stress. This can lead to HIIT being counterproductive rather than beneficial in terms of fat loss due to high stress levels.
3. You are struggling with hormone imbalance. If your body’s hormone balance is disturbed, HIIT may not be the solution for you at present. Your body needs to destress and slow down.
4. Your nutrition does not support it. HIIT demands a lot of energy and if in the name of losing weight you car cutting out carbs, then you might not get through the HIIT workout and in turn it might lead to losing necessary muscle!
5. You are not actually doing HIIT! Most HIIT classes are not HIIT if by the end of it you are not bent over gasping for breath! HIIT means going all out in the given time interval and most of us don’t.
