Your first two steps are missing these. đź‘€

Two things decide how quickly you get moving: how low you lean and how well you push. Get both right and the force travels up the chain instead of leaking out.

Fix the lean, fix the push, and every step after it gets easier to organise.

Your power leaks the moment you stop absorbing.

Force travels up through your kinetic chain. Load the back leg, rotate, then load the front.

Catch and throw as one movement: absorb into the load and push out.

No two footballers are the same.

Even when they play the same position and work toward the same goal, what they need to improve can be different.

Thats what APX Movement Assessment is exactly for 🔥

That’s where we look at how you move, where you’re at, and what you need to develop before deciding how you should train.

Don’t just train more. Train for what you need.

This band exposes your biggest speed leak.

Most athletes assume sprint speed comes from the legs. It doesn't — it comes from how much force you can drive through the hip on extension. If your hips shift or collapse under load, that force leaks out before it ever reaches the ground.

This band drill trains your body to hold full hip extension under resistance, so the power actually transfers where it counts — into your drive step.

Your knee drive is too slow to matter.

Fast knee drive doesn't come from hip flexor strength alone — it comes from how quickly your foot strikes and reacts off the ground.

If ground contact is slow, your knee never gets the chance to drive high or fast, no matter how strong your legs are.

Fix the strike, and the knee drive fixes itself.

The split second that changes everything. 👇

Every time you land flat instead of springy, you lose the elastic load through your ankles, knees and hips that should fire straight back into your next movement.

At APX, we coach players to land like a pogo — bouncy, reactive, ready to receive and play the instant their foot hits the ground. That split-second difference is what separates a slow first touch from an instant one.

Cutting your range is quietly killing your power.

Most people think speed comes from effort. It actually comes from range — the deeper you can control a position, the more time your body has to load force before it releases it.

Cut that range short, and you're cutting the power output short with it. No matter how hard you push.

The one thing under your hips changes everything. đź‘€

Most athletes think longer strides mean more speed — it's actually where your foot lands that matters. Strike the ground underneath your hip instead of reaching out in front, and the force transfers straight up the chain instead of braking you. Once that rhythm clicks, everything else gets faster.

More training doesn’t always guarantee more progress.

At APX, we first understand their movement, and their current performance before deciding what to work on next.

Because for us, it’s not simply about doing more.

It’s about training with purpose.

Ready to train with more purpose? Comment “ASSESS” to get started.

This shin angle is stealing your acceleration.

Most players think push-off starts at the foot — it doesn't. It starts with the shin angle you set before your foot even hits the ground. Get that angle wrong, and you're fighting your own hip to push out. Get it right, and force transfers straight through the front leg into your first step.

That's the difference between an athlete who accelerates and one who just runs.
