The IHAA Board is delighted to announce that the FEI and IHAA have signed a certificate of Mutual Official Recognition.
This document is highly significant in that it marks the recognition of the sport of Horseback Archery by the FEI; the organisation which regulates equestrian sport at the very highest level internationally.
In the document the FEI and IHAA recognise the significant roles that each plays in the development of equestrianism worldwide through our respective spheres of authority. It notes our mutual commitment to equestrian sport and to fostering its growth while maintaining harmony and respect within the relationship between equine and human athlete.
The shared values of horse welfare and athlete safeguarding are recognised and an ongoing commitment is made to uphold these to the highest standards. IHAA endorses and respects all FEI principles and rules for the welfare of horses and safety of athletes.
This commitment is signed by FEI President, Ingmar De Vos; FEI Secretary General, Sabrina Ibáñez; IHAA President, Alan le Gall; and IHAA Vice President, Claire Sawyer.
FEI is the sole authority for all International Events in the disciplines of Jumping, Dressage, Para Dressage, Eventing, Driving, Para Driving, Endurance, Vaulting, Reining and other Equestrian Sports approved by the General Assembly and recognised by the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee. One of the FEI's statutory objectives is to recognise the interests of all the constituencies of equestrianism and to promote equestrianism in all its forms.
We are honoured to stand shoulder to shoulder with the FEI in promoting fair sport within equestrianism, and best practice in equine welfare and athlete safety.
