Social media and fitness culture can make us believe that taking time off, resting or prioritising recovery will undo all of our progress. That we need to constantly push through to keep moving forward.

And honestly, I’m not immune to that mindset. There was a time where I had an unhealthy and obsessive relationship with training, where taking a break felt like the end of the world and came with so much guilt.

After a lot of healing and learning to listen to my body, my relationship with training has completely shifted. I still have moments where I need my partner to remind me to slow down (because training is such a big part of my mental health 🤍), but I am now better at practicing what I preach, and that rest isn’t a step backwards, it’s part of the process.

A rested and recovered body comes back stronger, performs better and reduces the risk of injury.

So take the time to look after your body. Fuel it, move it, rest it and respect what it needs 🤍

We are bloody proud of this! 💪🏻

When we attempted banded assisted pull ups in March, it was more of a dead hang followed by a strong ‘NO’ 😂

But with months of hard work in both training and diet, we are 20kgs lighter and 20x stronger 💪🏻

We are coming for that unassisted pull up! 😉
