Guys we have some very big and exciting news 🤩🤩
As most members are aware the club has applied for genuine reasons of target shooting for A,B and H and we a thrilled to announce that we have been approved by the fi****ms registry.
This means we will now be able to push ahead with official scored matches with our shooting days.
Now to add to this good news, a few weeks ago we had Early Arms Rifle And Pistol Club Inc reach out to our President expressing interest in starting some shooting out at Muswellbrook. We had the chance early this morning to head out there and check out their facility and meet Mark and James who own and run the range. The range is 200m hard target approved, for pistols, rimfire and centerfire rifles and shotguns and only 1 and a half hours from Newcastle.
We are thrilled to say that we will be adding even more shooting dates to our calendar starting on the 20th this month!!!
We will be starting out with a basic rimfire PRS match and keeping things relatively simple while we get accustomed to this style of shooting, how the days will run etc etc and for you guys to slowly ease into it.
Our intention is to follow NRL22 rules and regulations for this event classes and structure the PRS course of fire to provide a reasonable challenge for all shooters but not be so difficult that any normal rifle and scope combination can’t hit the targets. This event will be shot out to 200m with 22lr. There will be 5 divisions for people to shoot in depending on the type of firearm you will be using and some other factors, the divisions will be open, basic, women’s, OG/adaptive and juniors. Further details will be provided later about this however for the first match not entirely relevant.
We have further plans for pistol events and other practical matches down the track, however this will take some time to prepare and trial a few things before we take this step.
We are going to strongly encourage everyone who is interested in shooting these events to add target shooting to your license as this will be a mandatory requirement coming into the new membership year in October.
