Maylands Yacht Club Dinghy sailing club with venue hire available for functions. Sailing Mirror, Sabre, Laser, Minnow dinghies.

We have a summer and winter racing series, and a successful Learn to Sail program. We are a friendly, affordable sailing club, welcoming all ages. Maylands Yacht Club (MYC) located on the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia. it is the most upriver sailing club, located less than 5km from the centre of Perth. We sail a variety of classes, from the single handed Laser, Sabre and Minnow, to two-ha

nded Mirror dinghies, and the popular trailer-sailer Hartley TS 16 . Juniors also have the opportunity to try their hand at sailing the ever-popular Mirror, an ideal training dinghy, plus the single-handed Minnow. Sailing in our Summer Series takes place on Sundays from October through to April. Racing commences at 2.00 pm, while Sunday morning is reserved for training. A Winter Series is held from May to September on the first Sunday of each month, with the first of two short races starting at 1.00 pm. In addition, a number of social events are held throughout the year. Conditions are typically flat water and varying breezes, with stronger winds occurring during the summer months. Gusts and windshifts are a good test of helmsmanship, and skill and tactics often win out over straight line speed.

2025-2026 Presentation Evening

Ahoy there!
Book your seat at the Presentation Night, being held at the Maylands Tennis Club on Friday 12th June. Doors open 6pm.
Dinner will be served around 7pm (seafood and vegetarian paella).
Then followed by Presentations, Dessert and then more live music by our resident yacht rock bank "Now and Then".
It will be a Nautical theme dinner dance so start polishing your dancing deck shoes.
The tennis club is located at 56 Clarkson Road, Maylands.
Tickets are only $25/head. Bar will be open.

Then we're rocking out to the sounds of resident Yacht Rock band "Now and Then".

Dress code applies. Guests who are insufficiently "on theme" may be subject to keelhauling.

Discover Sailing Centre in Focus | Maylands Yacht Club, WA ⛵️

As one of Australian Sailing’s newer Discover Sailing Centres, officially joining the program in 2025, the club has quickly built a reputation for its welcoming community, strong volunteer base, and consistent delivery of quality learn to sail experiences.

With a history dating back to 1946, Maylands Yacht Club has long been part of the local fabric. Under the leadership of Commodore Mimi Secco, the club continues to evolve while staying true to its community-driven roots.
