✨FEARS✨

When we're on a self discovery or self development journey, there's so many fears that pop up.

After all, what we are doing is changing - and change is scary!

It can be stressful and anxiety provoking.

It can bring up a lot of feelings for us.

But where would we be if we didn't face our fears and take the steps to make positive changes?

We would be stuck.

My tips for facing your fears:

1. Write your fears down.

2. If you find you're spiralling thinking about your fears, allocate a small amount of time for 'fear or worry time' where you write down and think about your fears in this time only. If they pop into your head another time, tell yourself that you will think about that fear in your 'fear worry time'.

3. Work with a coach when you're ready to up level, they can hold space for you and listen to your fears and guide you beyond them.

When I was working in my professional job👩🏼‍🎓, I had no awareness of what 'alignment’ even was💫

I just did what I did and rarely questioned my ‘purpose’. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve been on such a journey of self discovery ✨and personal development since those days of working as a Sonographer, and what I really know now is that It wasn't the job that was stressful, it was the fact that I was so out of alignment with my purpose that was stressful. 🫣

Yes I was helping others, which I believe is one of my purposes, but I wasn't using any of my creative or empathic talents. 🥰

I didn't feel fulfilled in the way I do now, running a million $ wellness studio business and coaching people through their own personal development journeys. 💖

it was hard because I was out of alignment

If you are questioning if you're life is hard or stressful or if you're exhausted because you're out of alignment, here's a few questions to ask yourself:

1. What lights you up?
2. What talents do you have that you are currently not using?
3. Are you being paid to do something you love?

Self discovery (along with self accountability) will lead you to find what you're soul is craving - ✨alignment✨💖

and in turn less stress, less overwhelm and more joy☀️

I'm celebrating a milestone achievement this week! 🥳

After almost 9 years of living in Perth (over 10 years for Craig), Craig and I became Australian citizens 🇦🇺

It's crazy to look back at our journey.

After meeting Craig in Ibiza in 2013, he persuaded me to move to Perth, where he was living at the time. and just over a year later I took a big leap of faith and moved.

It was scary and there were a lot of fears going through my head but my intuition said it was the right thing to do. Plus I worked as a sonography at the time and the wages in W.A were much higher than in Scotland, so it seemed like a win win.

I had planned to only be in Australis for a year or so before moving back to Scotland.

Little did I know we would love it so much here that we'd end up calling Perth home for way longer, opening our business Clear Mind Studio here AND become Australian citizens!

Join me in celebrating this huge milestone in our lives 💖✨🥳🥂

Ha ha ha 😆

When was the last time you were round at your besties house for wine + movie night, and you're giggling so hard and it's made you forget about all you're stresses and problems from that day?

Seriously tho this is no joke🤣... It's no coincidence, it's science that laughing helps lower stress levels.

When we laugh, our body releases endorphins, which are natural chemicals that help to reduce pain and increase feelings of well-being.

In addition, laughing can help to reduce the levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline in the body.

When we're under stress, our body produces these hormones, which can lead to negative physical and emotional symptoms such as increased heart rate, high blood pressure, anxiety, and irritability. However, laughing can help to reduce these hormone levels, allowing us to feel more relaxed and less tense.

My go to is funny dog reels, specifically the golden retriever ones. 🐶

I don’t buy into mum guilt because I choose not to.

It’s natural that i want to do what’s best for my daughter. We all want whats best for our kids.

Sometimes what’s best is me working and my daughter being in daycare.

Sometimes what’s best is me not working and being present with my daughter.

Sometimes what’s best for my daughter is if I take myself away for a float or sauna so that I can calm my nervous system and look after my own well-being so that when I am with her I’m a calm and present mum.

By choosing to not buy into mum guilt I can focus on the positive aspects of my own parenting and acknowledge that I am doing my best with the resources that I have and acknowledging that it’s ok to make mistakes.

The fact that I don’t feel guilty doesn’t make me a bad parent or mean that I don’t care.

Although I don’t feel guilty about these things, I do reflect on them and ask myself if I should do things differently or what would be a better way for my family.

I feel like mum guilt is something that the media made up to put even more pressure on our already overwhelmed minds.

Say I WAS to buy into mum guilt l, and let that belief affect me, I’d be parenting from a place of guilt and that’s not a healthy place or mindset to be parenting from or a belief I want my daughter to uphold.

I’d much rather parent from a place of love, kindness, self compassion, self reflection, joy and happiness.

So I choose to not buy into mum guilt.

What do you choose?

BREATHING TECHNIQUES

✨Box breathing✨

1. breath in for a count of four
2. hold for a count of four
3. breath out for a count of four
4. hold for a count of four before repeating.

This pattern can help to slow down the heart rate and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

Feeling frazzled at work?

Setting healthy boundaries around work can help to improve your work-life balance and reduce your stress.

Here are some ways:

👉Set clear work hours: Establish specific work hours and stick to them. If possible, avoid checking work emails or taking work calls outside of these hours.

👉Prioritise self-care: Make time for activities that fill you up, keep you calm and bring you joy.

👉Set boundaries for technology during non work hours: Turn off notifications, or put your phone on silent mode to avoid interruptions during your personal time.

👉Communicate with your boss and colleagues: Make sure they are aware of your boundaries and let them know what you're comfortable with and what you're not.

👉Learn to say "no": Saying "no" to unreasonable demands or requests can be difficult, but it's an important aspect of setting healthy boundaries. Be honest and direct when declining requests, but be respectful and professional in your approach.

👉Be clear about your workload: Make sure you have a clear understanding of your responsibilities and workload. If you're feeling overwhelmed, communicate with your boss and seek support.

👉Take breaks: Regular breaks can help reduce stress and improve your productivity. Your lunch break is for you to rest, not catch up on work.

SAUNAS

My favourite way to spend some 'me' time is in the sauna.

Here are some ways a sauna can help with stress management:

👉Increases relaxation: The heat in a sauna cause your muscles to relax and release tension, which can help you feel more relaxed and reduce stress.

👉Boosts circulation: The heat in a sauna can increase blood flow, which can improve circulation and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

👉Sweating: Sweating in a sauna can help to release toxins from the body, which can help to reduce stress and improve overall health.

👉Enhances sleep: Spending time in a sauna before bed can help to improve sleep quality, which can have a positive impact on stress levels.

👉Provides time for mindfulness: Spending time in a sauna can provide a great quiet and peaceful environment for meditation or mindfulness practices, or just to sit and chill away from the kids, which can help to reduce stress levels.

You can book a sauna appointment at Clearmindstudio .
