Today the team were at Kurri Kurri Sportsground for a range of finals across multiple Schoolboy & Schoolgirl competitions for the Maitland & Newcastle region.

Congratulations to Trinity Catholic College who have progressed through into the U/16s Schoolgirl Trophy grand final which will take place on Wednesday 24th June at Maitland Sportsground against Warners Bay High School.

We also had the U/14s Cochrane Cup grand final with St Bede's Catholic College winning the competition for the first time since the school opened in 2018 in a nail biter against Trinity Catholic College 18-14 in tough conditions. They will also progress through to play on Wednesday 24th June at Maitland Sportsground against Francis Greenway High School, along with the next round of Cochrane Cup which will be confirmed in weeks to come.

Our final game of the day had St Francis Xavier, Hamilton take on Callaghan College Jesmond in sunshine once the rain clouds finally cleared in what proved to be a fantastic final to finish with SFX going out winners 30-28. They will represent our region at the next stage of the Country Cup in Bathurst on June 10th.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers & ground staff from Kurri Kurri Bulldogs for being last minute hosts. We really appreciated the work behind the scenes to allow this day to happen.
