What a fantastic four days of Rugby League across the Hunter! 🙌

Over 1,100 students took part in our League Stars Challenge, getting out on the field, playing with their mates and developing their Rugby League skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Our League Stars Challenge gala days place the focus on participation, skill development, teamwork and enjoyment. These days are all about giving every player the opportunity to get involved, learn, improve and enjoy the game. 🏉❤️

A huge thank you to all the teachers, schools and students who made the four days such a success!

The Hunter team were at Hunter Barnett Fields in Windale for the annual U/13s Boys NRL 9s with over 200 students from 16 local schools taking part in qualifier #1 of the competition.

A big thank you to Windale Junior Rugby League for hosting another great day of Rugby League.

Congratulations & best of luck to St Francis Xavier, Hamilton & Trinity Catholic College, Adamstown who have progressed through to the semi finals of the competition for 2026.

Jersey Day 2026

A day the Northern Corridor game development team enjoy each year with our staff throwing on a jersey to show support to this great cause.

Jersey Day was inspired by the gift of life that Nathan Gremmo gave to six people when he became an organ donor at age 13 after tragically passing away. Jersey Day is all about raising awareness for Organ Donation. This campaign is all about raising awareness.

A key highlight for the month of August was the delivery of two All Abilities Gala Days held across the Maitland and Newcastle regions.

A total of 11 schools were invited to participate across the two pilot events, providing students of all abilities with the opportunity to experience rugby league in a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment.

The events were designed to promote physical activity, teamwork, social connection, confidence, and enjoyment, with students participating in a modified League-tag format that allowed everyone to be actively involved regardless of their ability or previous sporting experience.

The positive engagement from students, teachers, and support staff reinforced the importance of providing inclusive sporting opportunities within our community. These events continue to demonstrate the role rugby league can play in bringing schools together and creating positive experiences for students of all abilities.

Thank you to the students from Cardiff High School & Callaghan College Wallsend for their assistance across the delivery of these programs.

We look forward to opening these events up to All Schools across the region in 2027.

🏆 City Cup Finals Day 🏉

What a day for the Central Coast! 🙌

Our schools came away with an incredible 4 wins from 5 games, with plenty of great footy on display throughout the day!

🏆 Gorokan High School 14s Girls kicked things off with a 28–4 win over Bass High School.

🏆 St Edward’s College followed with a 36–16 win over Granville Boys High School.

🏆 St Peter’s Catholic College battled hard to come away with a 16–8 win over Ashcroft.

👏 Wadalba Community School gave it everything against Bass High School in some pretty tough and wet conditions, showing plenty of determination and great sportsmanship.

🏆 And to finish the day, Kincumber High School took home the Opens Girls trophy after a great contest against St Clare’s!

A massive congratulations to all the players, coaches, schools and supporters involved. Four City Cup trophies coming back to the Central Coast! 🏆🏆🏆🏆

What a great day of footy for our 13s and 15s Girls Central Coast Roosters 9s Gala Day this term!

A huge congratulations to Gorokan High School, who came away as champions in both the 13s and 15s divisions! 🏆🏆

It was fantastic to see plenty of great footy, teamwork and sportsmanship on display across the whole day. A big thank you to all the schools, players, teachers, referees and staff who helped make the day such a success!

We had 10 teams competing on the day from 9 local schools taking part in the 9s format.
