The time has come to farewell our “Whinging Poms”! 🇬🇧🏏

Alex, Elliot and Oliver – thank you for the past six months. You slotted straight into our young group and brought plenty of energy, laughter, and top-tier banter.

While the cricket might not have always gone our way, we couldn’t have asked for three better blokes to have around the club (and to give a bit of stick to along the way).

So many friendships and memories have been made that will last a lifetime.

Thank you for taking the leap across the world to play cricket and experience life with us – we hope you’ve loved every minute of it.

It is with great pleasure that we recognise and honour Ben as our newest — and youngest — Life Member.

Ben Robertson’s contribution to the Maryborough Cricket Club is one defined by long-term commitment, outstanding on-field success, and tireless off-field service.

Ben has an extremely impressive cricketing resume.

Beginning his journey with the club in 2004 in Under 12s, quickly establishing himself as a dedicated and talented cricketer.

Under 14 Premiership team in 2005/2006
Captain Under 14 Premiership team in 2007/2008
Under 16 Premiership team in 2009/2010, where he notably took six catches as wicket-keeper.
A Reserve 2-Day Premiership in 2015/2016,
A Reserve 1-Day Premiership in 2016/2017, Best on Field with 86 not out.
A Grade 2-Day Premierships in 2016/2017 and 2017/2018,
A Grade 1-Day Premiership in 2020/2021
Under 14 Premiership Coach in 2013/2014 and 2014/2015
Under 16 Premiership Coach in 2016/2017.

A Reserve Captain over many years.
Club Secretary from 2017-current, a position he continues to fulfill with dedication and professionalism.
Club Curator from 2018-current, being critical to the club’s success.

Ben is a driving force behind the club’s sustainability, Ben played a key role in securing funding through grants, most notably obtaining almost $200,000 to upgrade the turf wicket at Princes Park — a significant contribution that will benefit the club for years to come.

Ben’s dedication, leadership, and sustained contribution across playing, coaching, and administration make him a truly deserving recipient of Life Membership.
