Grand Final Here We Come!!
The under 14/15 FQPL boys came out to a busy Villa, ready for the biggest game of the year so far. A win would send them straight to the GF, a loss meant another chance.
Villa started well, putting pressure on the opposition, as well as maintaining their strong attack.
The defensive line worked well and were unbreakable, forcing all shots to be taken from long range, which Zander was able to handle well.
Midfields played some great football, controlling possession for long periods with simple pass and move football. Cooper, Jesse and Ethan worked well in the middle, and the wings, applied constant pressure.
Villa were awarded a free kick in the 12th minute that Jesse calmly slotted from well outside the box giving us the lead until the half.
Second half, the boys knew the fight was going to be harder. Villa came out firing and had a chance on goal within the first minute but were unlucky. ATW kept applying pressure, and it was made harder in the 45th minute when Villa were reduced to 10 men for 10-minutes.
Villa worked hard and played for one another and kept threatening even with a man down, and when it was back to 11v11, it never really looked in doubt.
Villa held on to win 1-0 and book our place in the grand final in 2 weeks time.
The coaches are beyond proud of these boys and how hard they have worked, with all the obstacles they have had to face, and look forward to the grand final in 2 weeks.
