πŸ€ U18 DIV 2 BOYS – RAFFLE WINNER! πŸŽ‰

Over the past month, our U18 Division 2 Boys have been working hard off the court, selling raffle tickets to help reduce the cost of their team uniforms.

And what an effort it was! πŸ‘ Thanks to the boys, their families and everyone who supported the raffle, they managed to raise enough money to HALVE their uniform fees! πŸ™ŒπŸ€

On Sunday afternoon, the coaches and team manager used a random number generator to select the lucky winning ticket…

From this week, we’ve made some changes to game times in our junior competition to allow for smoother transitions and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The extra time between games will mean more time for players to prepare and reset, opportunities for referee development, and a little more breathing room for our amazing volunteers who help make game nights happen.

Many of our referees also play in the competition, so these changes will help support our whole basketball community.

πŸ€ Maryborough Magic Players Shine at Queensland Representative School Basketball Championships! πŸ€

What an incredible achievement for four of our Maryborough Magic players who represented the Wide Bay region at the Queensland Representative Basketball School State Championships in Carina, Brisbane, from 3–6 September.

πŸ‘ Congratulations to Chloe Fassoulis, Isabella Stenhouse, Violet McGann and Madison Madagascan, who proudly represented Wide Bay against the best young basketballers from across Queensland.

The Wide Bay 10–12 years girls team produced a fantastic tournament, showing incredible grit, determination and team spirit as they battled their way through to the semi-finals β€” the first time in 30 years that a Wide Bay girls team has reached this stage! πŸ”₯πŸ€

The girls represented Maryborough Magic and the Wide Bay region with pride.

Our junior competition relies on volunteers to help games run smoothly β€” and we need your help! πŸ™Œ

For every game, we require 1 person from each team to assist on the score bench.

This can be:
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ A family member
πŸ‘« A friend
πŸ€ A sibling 13 years or older

New to basketball or never done score bench before? No problem! 😊 We have plenty of people available to assist and show you how to do the score bench.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: If we don’t have enough score bench volunteers, the games will not go ahead.

Please work together as a team to make sure someone is available each game. Taking turns throughout the season makes a huge difference!

Best of The West Competition

A massive shoutout to our two referees, Luke and Hayden, who had an incredible weekend on the court, officiating a huge 15 games between them! πŸ‘

After a massive workload across the weekend, it was pretty special to see them finish the tournament together, officiating the Grand Finals side by side. πŸ–€πŸ€ An awesome achievement and a great reflection of their hard work, commitment and development as officials. We are incredibly proud to have them representing Maryborough!
