Who could it be?

With Cricket and Prada living the retired life, there was room for one more. I’ve been offered an amazing little one to join our team for the season on lease and hopefully fulfill another life bucket list item 🙂 I can’t wait to welcome this one to our team, thank you so much for this opportunity

VERSES

1999 Purebred Crabbet Arabian Gelding

Shard was the love of my life. A gentle but wary soul who taught me how to earn trust, respect and love.
We faced some hard trials together which cemented a bond like no other and although we never achieved the grand titles I dreamed of for him, and not to say he wasn’t in the purple, our wins were infinitely more valued.
Shard passed away in December of 2020 after 15 years together, taking a piece of me with him.

With the team still on Winter break I thought I’d share some horse spotlight posts of the horses that have been amazing members of Della Vaiga Park Show & Performance Horses team.

I’ll kick off with our patriarch:

ALKIM PARK ALED - Sabastian
1986 Purebred Crabbet Arabian Gelding

Sire: Arabesque Desert Star
Dam: Rhabda

Sabastian came into my world when I was 11 years old. My love for the Arabian breed was already imbedded into my soul and he was a horse I had only ever dreamed of. He taught me so much and he was so kind and so resilient, carrying me all through my teen years competing in just about every discipline I had a chance to try. Our partnership and friendship lasted 30 years until he passed away 2023, just shy of his 37th birthday.

After 13 years in the show ring, my gorgeous Cricket is hanging up the halter!
What an amazing journey we’ve had together. She has taught me so much and we have created moments I will treasure always. She has won at every level throughout her career, from club shows to National Championships, she always gives me everything she has and is flawless and reliable. No horse deserves this more.
She will now spend her days a lady of leisure with her best friend in the world Prada.
Happy Retirement My Princess Potato, thank you for everything ###x

last weekend we attended the AMHS National Championships, to say it was a great show is an understatement!

Ace did extremely well, bringing home two National Supreme titles and qualifying for both Overall Best Trot and Ultimate Gelding. He wasn't the judges choice for these titles be he gave me everything he had and I couldnt be proud of him.

Habiby and I made our first entrance in the ring together with some excellent placings. Considering I only meet him on Thursday for the first time and jumped straight into the ring the next day, Im very keen to see what we can achieve this year.

Thank you to the committee, judges, stewards, ring crew, volunteers and sponsors for a great show. Without you, we couldnt do what we love and your dedication and time is valued beyond measure.

Special thank to my gorgeous Grub for your support and company all weekend ###

In our journey of exploring our next step, I have had some amazing people in our Mini equine world offering me some sensational horses. All I can say is a huge thank you to everyone, I’m so humbled that you consider us a safe and trusted home for your fur babies.

Anyone who knows me well, knows I fall in love with the horses I have in my life and always look for what they can teach me about myself and how to improve who I am as a horse person and this little man I’m hoping will teach me new lessons.
I’m so excited to welcome Triple H Mr Lockdown aka Habiby to the Della Vaiga Park Team.

A massive thank you to Sam and Jessy for trusting me with leasing this handsome man. I look forward to stepping out in the Western and performance ring soon.

Yesterday we kicked off the first show of the year with the AMHS NSW Southern Summer Show in Goulburn. It was a boys day out in the wind and the rain but as you can see, they did me proud.

Was our last show with Jasper and he has come a long way in a short time. He was solo for a few of his events but he worked the house down with his trot classes and was awarded Overall Best Trot of Show, out running me at times 😜

Ace’s held the banner again for his category and was an absolutely good boy doing his job to perfection, although he wasn’t awarded any overalls this time he dealt with the condition like the rockstar he is. Love my boy ###

Thank you to Jenelle for running a great show and thank you to the judges, stewards and volunteers for coming out to support the day.

Now to focus on Nationals! See you all soon 💃🏽
