One of the most important water safety skills a child can learn is how to float on their back.
If a child becomes tired, unexpectedly enters the water, or finds themselves in difficulty, being able to roll onto their back and float helps them stay calm, breathe more easily, and conserve energy while waiting for help.
Back floating helps children:
π Build confidence in the water
π Develop body awareness and balance
π Improve breathing control
π Strengthen core swimming skills
π Increase water safety in an emergency
We donβt just teach swimmingβwe teach lifesaving water safety skills.
π A child who can float is a child with a vital safety tool.
