Martin Fought Like a Warrior This Weekend! 🥉🔥

At just 7 years old, Martin stepped onto the mats at Grappling Industries No-Gi and went to work. Six matches. Four submission wins. 💪 North-South Choke. Kimura. He wasn’t just competing—he was hunting for the finish.

But it wasn’t just about the wins. Martin showed heart, battling through a tough division, staying focused, and proving to himself what he’s capable of. Watching him step off the mat after each match—tired but fired up—was a reminder of why we do this.

Starting Saturday, 1st February 2025, we’re launching Parent & Child Jiu Jitsu Classes at Locals Jiu Jitsu Maroubra! 🎉

2024 was a massive year for the kids at Locals Jiu Jitsu Maroubra! From first-time competitors stepping onto the mats to seasoned athletes showing their skills, every child put in the hard work and dedication that makes us so proud.

These awards represent more than just medals or trophies—they’re a celebration of resilience, growth, and the lessons learned along the way. Whether it’s mastering a new technique, overcoming nerves in competition, or showing up week after week, these kids have achieved so much this year.

As we celebrate their success, we’re even more excited for what 2025 has in store. A new year means more challenges, more learning, and even more opportunities to grow on and off the mats. Let’s keep the momentum going and make 2025 a year to remember!

We hope you’re all getting into the festive spirit! ✨

Here’s our schedule over the holiday period:

We will be CLOSED on the following days:
• Tuesday 24th December
• Wednesday 25th December
• Thursday 26th December
• Sunday 29th December
• Wednesday 1st January
• Thursday 2nd January

🌟 On all other days, we will be running Open Mat from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Open Mat is available for Mids, Tin Lids, Teens, and Adults keen to work on their jiu jitsu. Two coaches will be present on the mats to supervise and assist. (Please note Open Mat is not available for Squids)

Thank you for being part of the LOCALS Maroubra family! Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas 🎅 and a fantastic start to 2025. We can’t wait to see you back on the mats! 💪
