After a week of solid rain, we were lucky enough to have a cracking day on Saturday for 500m club competition.

A fresh south westerly turning to an easterly during the day kept everyone on their toes.

We had multiple new shooters on the day who all acquitted themselves well.

In F class for the day we had Peter and Andy both firing just one stage, scoring a 58 and 57 respectively.

We had 2 visitors compete in sporter with Reinhold just edging out Adam 98.5 to 97.8.

A big roll up of TR shooters with Mitch the best of three 100’s with 14V’s.

Well done to Rob picking up another possible, 50.5 in the 1st stage.

We also welcomed Catherine back, with her 1st shoot off the rest showing plenty of promise.

Next week will see us at 700m for club competition with a few members heading to Wingham for the annual championships.

Shout out to our volunteers:
Rob,Mitch,Jim,Phillip and Chris for taking care of target set up and pack up on the day.

Also to Barb who puts the range flags up every week.

HRC would also like to give a shout out to Chatswood rifle club who do an enormous amount of work every week Saturday morning opening the full bore range, which allows all the other clubs to enjoy their day.

At 600m today - we had a busy morning with Andy and Cristina having their first try at our sport, with Andy scoring 58/60 in F-Standard and already keen to get competitive!

A lovely surprise to see former SydVDC now Wingham member and friends David and Rhonda Wilkie who popped in to say hi.

The day was eventually washed out by 2.30 not everyone got a shoot.

In Sporter Nick topped with 97.12 followed by Paul H with 96, who also got a 50 in a practice.

In Target Rifle Jim topped with 100, followed by Chris and Issy - with Issy continuing her second stage to score a very nice 75.10/75.

Our Target Rifle club championship was decided today with no one able to get around Mitch now, Chris needed 100 today to tie but lost 1 in his second stage in the pouring rain! Too bad mate, well done Mitch.

The Sporter and F-class championships are still being contested.

Holsworthy was duty club today, thanks to our Range Officers Barbara, Mitch and Jim.

Thanks to Rob, Jim and Paul H for setting up the targets, Mitch and Chris for packing them up and thank you Jim for helping Dave Asper to pull down all the range flags in the rain.

Happy Volunteers Week everyone

🌟 National Volunteer Week 2026 | 18–24 May
Theme: Your Year to Volunteer 🌟

This week, we proudly celebrate National Volunteer Week and honour the incredible people who keep the NSWRA moving forward — on and off the range.

Every event we run, every flag raised, every target set, every smooth day on the mound… it all happens because volunteers show up with commitment, pride and love for our sport and our clubs.

From the members who help run club events, to those who assist with target setup, raise flags, support butts officers, keep scoreboards accurate and handle the endless behind‑the‑scenes admin that no one sees — your contribution is the backbone of our Association.

And to the friendly faces serving drinks, cooking food and keeping our canteens running… thank you.

Your efforts do not go unnoticed and they make our community stronger.

Three cheers for our volunteers — the heart of the NSWRA 🙏🏻🙌🏼

This is your year to volunteer and we are grateful for every moment you give.

Another beautiful day on the ANZAC range.

A big rollup for 500m including some club members’ families coming to try for the first time with Jim guiding on the club F-class gun and they all loved it. We also hosted a local Try-Shooting customer earlier who declared she’ll definitely be back soon!

It was good to see Dan back, he topped our Sporter class with 99.14.

Max topped F- Class with 109.4.

In Target Rifle Chris finished his second stage with a perfect 50.10 to score 100.17 beating Barb and Mitch by 3 Vs.
