I mean… don’t get me wrong. I like what the finances can do but I’m the type of person who worked for free for five years because I’m driven far more by what I can give than what I can get. This was a terrible decision for my financial future but if I was financially free, I’d still spend my time helping people. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also, when it comes to the things that don’t interest me, I’m continually asking what I can:

1. Eliminate - when I’m only doing it because I thought that was the only way or because it was the way I was taught or because it worked at one point but it’s no longer working

2. Automate - when a problem can be solved with AI or digital tools or with systems/routines

3. Delegate - when I’m not interested and it can’t be eliminated or automated and I hate it so much I’m willing to pay someone else to do it

Defeat chaos with clarity.

To practise interrupting overwhelm and finding clarity, I’d recommend trialing the STOP skill from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) - which I’m trained in, btw.

S: Stop what you’re doing
T: Take a step back (physically do this)
O: Observe (in this case, what you’re feeling unclear on)
P: Proceed Mindfully

Through some twist of fate, a suburban Dutch boy and an Australian farm girl found each other because of a shared love of New York City - and the rest is history.

Now he skins goats and rides motorbikes.

Honestly, marrying well is the best ADHD hack I know of.
