Park grounds will close for 2025

G’day guys
Yes, you have read it right.

The park grounds will close for 2025.
We have been extremely quiet on the socials because basically nothing has been happening.
2024 has been a tough year. We have tried on many occasions to find a way forward, but unfortunately we’ve been unable to make ingrouds

The committee has got together over the Christmas break to see what can be recovered for 2025 and unfortunately the result is most likely going to be the same as 2024, so we’ve made the big call very early in the year to not continue opening the
All Terrain 4x4 Park grounds in Marreba in 2025

The damage that has been caused by cyclone Jasper basically 12 months ago to date today, we just have not recovered from. Plus all the normal pressures in running an organisation.
We are very small not for profit organisation and we just don’t have the manpower resources to pull this back. 

We would like to thank all the past and present committee members over the last 8 years you know who you are (thankyou) on trying to keep this dream alive.

Well we tried to remain open over the Easter weekend but the weather had other ideas!

Due to us having to use a bypass road to get into the park (we are accessing our grounds through the middle of a working cattle property) we had no choice but to make the call. As well as our original road in all being churned up from Cyclone Jasper we had problems near the lime paddock, so it was a double whammy.
Also there was no guarantee that for those of us who were already there would be able to get out with the rainfall because of the existing state of the access in. It was a bit out of the ordinary to see 7 caravans when we are so used to seeing camper trailers at the park, but thankfully no issues.

For those who made it in luckily on Saturday morning most from Townsville 4x4 club please post some photos in comments and we hope to see you all again.

We will regroup and go again in another month fingers crossed.

G'Day Everyone,
Unfortunately, due to the excessive amount of rain we've had up here, we've had to cancel our Easter School Holidays Campout.
The ground is soaked and even the entry road is extremely slippery.
For those that have already booked and paid we'll process a refund for you.
Keep an eye on our socials and website for future campout dates.

EASTER OPENING POST

G’day guys, finally
some good news. We are going to open for the Easter long weekend and for the first week of the school holidays.

Good Friday 29th March
12 noon through to
Sunday 7th April 12noon

After a long stretch of continued wet weather, we
are pleased to be open for the first time this year.

There will be some changes on how you enter. We will be using a bypass road to enter the campground, which is accessible for a normal 4x4 and semi off-road caravan.
Please follow all the signs, and most importantly, leave the gates, the way you find them, as there are still livestock on the property.

The grounds and tracks have changed dramatically and some tracks have not even been driven since last September, so if you are up for a challenge and being an explorer, then the Easter weekend is one for you.
We can still enter our kid friendly Creek it’s cleaning up nicely and of course we’re pet friendly.

All these dates are now open on Hipcamp and we prefer if you are camping to go through the Hipcamp booking site.

So if you haven’t already booked somewhere for the Easter school holiday period look us up.

G’day everyone.
Park situation update.

We are still CLOSED.

We closed early last year, given the fire risk, now unfortunately we remain closed due to the extreme wet weather conditions we have experienced in FNQ.

Our road into the campground has taken another hit not suitable for ALL to travel in and some of our internal roads are in the same condition.
The entry to the creek has totally changed, as well as our safety dam wall being totally washed away.

Due to the Park’s committee all having work commitments getting us all together to tackle it has been difficult. We hope to announce a working bee in the near future and hopefully we can get the place open as soon as possible.
