Well known Mareeba footballing coach Alex Srhoj has developed AVS Football Academy to help offer kids on the Tablelands the opportunities and development programs right here in their own backyard. Alex has had a ball at his feet since he could walk, played for the Mareeba Bulls, and moved in coaching in 2004. Since then Alex has found his calling and his passion and drive to help foster developmen

t opportunities has now driven Alex to create AVS Football Academy. As a coach Alex's track record speaks for itself, being named FNQ Football coach of the year of on three occasions in three different divisions, FNQ Premier ladies coach of the year in 2004, FNQ Reserve grade mens coach of the year in 2008 and FNQ premier mens coach of the year in 2015. Enjoying success along the way winning reserve grade mens premiership in 2007 and grand final in 2008, Alex then took a break from coaching from 2009 to 2012 taking up the role as general manager for the FNQ Bulls in the former Queensland State league. in 2013 Alex returned back to coaching and took out the FNQ Premiership, Grand final and Crad Evans in 2014, then repeated the premiership and grand final feat in 2015, along with taking out the FNQ Football Sportscene Cup. Alex has been a ambassador for the Brisbane Roar going into the local Tablelands Schools helping spread the love of the world game and through his work with the Mareeba United Football Club has offered development clinics to all kids across the Tablelands. Alex has also bettered himself along the way recently completing the FFA Senior and Youth C Licence. Alex's passion is second to none, his commitment to the kids, his commitment to the sport in the region is the driving force behind the creation of AVS. Alex welcomes kids of all ages and development levels, looking to create a environment where all kids are enjoying the sport, whilst being developed and tested at their level. Cost will be $225 for the 10 week cycle, with spots limited to 10 players per group.
