Mapleton Bowls Club Mapleton Bowls Club is a Lawn Bowls Club for people of all ages, situated in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Queensland. Art group (1 day a week)

Our history has shown the club is a reliable provider of social support and cohesion for the community and many local and community events are held at our premises at non-commercial rates. We are an important community facility for the Mapleton/Montville region, as the club is a host for 10 groups of people in the community, on a weekly basis, as well as for ad hoc events. The Clubhouse facilities

are used frequently, with about 370 people-visits each week. The groups that regularly use the clubhouse facility include:

1. Lawn bowls (4-5 days a week)
2. Gym activities (6 days a week)
3. Mah-jong group (1 day a week)
4. Craft group (1 day a week)
6. darts group (2 days a week)
7. Probus, community meetings eg MADCA (2 days a month)
8. Social groups for Friday Dinners Nights (2 evenings a month)
9. special events incl Mapleton Day, Trivia Nights, Council consultations (as organised), and
10. live music events (as organised). Also the club's facilities are club hired out for birthdays/weddings. Community gatherings are important in the business model for the Club. The Clubhouse facility is the only facility in the Mapleton/Montville area that can hold large gatherings (up to 100 people), with kitchen and bar services. Our activities are supported by strong volunteerism, as members want a friendly club that has a strong “community focus”.

While the singles were being fought out down the coast, the mixed fours at Mapleton Day were rolling their best bowls forward as well as in front, behind, and many right on the jack.

Thanks Ray Burge for another well run day and for keeping the rain away. We still don’t know how you did that. 🤔

Congratulations to all the winners. Well earned wins. And commiserations to the others. Good bowls all round.

Thanks to the kitchen and bar staff. The bangers for lunch were absolutely banging. Delicious.

Volunteers at their very best.

Mapleton Bowls Club is very fortunate to have two amazing volunteer Catering Provedores.

Recently, the Ladies Fiesta catering was lead by our Super Special events specialist, Helen Mallet. Helen and her team created a 2 course meal with morning tea and after game nibbles for 70 people. She will back it up this Sunday for Mapleton Day. Always with a team of ready helpers.

Dinner Nights are led by the extraordinary Kathy Lambe. Every fortnight a team of volunteer kitchen wonders gather to produce meals for up to 80 - 90 diners. We also have the help of some talented mains specials and dessert chefs, also volunteers.

The people taking and processing orders also donate their time as volunteers.

Thank you to all the wonderful teams that travelled to our ladies Fiesta today.

It rained a bit, but we got through it with some laughs and good spirits and managed to play 3 full games of 12 ends.

Congratulations to the winners and the losers. We hope you all had a good day.
