WHAT A WEEKEND!
Well done to Joey, who competed at the Victorian Country Short Course Championships in Traralgon over the weekend!
With a full schedule of 5 swims across the 2 days, it was jam-packed with 2 new personal best times, new experiences, and plenty of learning along the way.
So proud of how you represented Team Mansfield 🫶🫶

Best wishes to Joey McGuigan this weekend as he takes on the best of the best in Country Victoria at the 2026 Victorian SC Course Country Swimming Championships in Traralgon. Over two days Joey will compete in 5 events in the 14/15 year age group -
🌟100m butterfly
🌟100m backstroke
🌟100m Individual medley
🌟100m freestyle
🌟200m freestyle

Joey received an athlete grant from the Department of Sport and Recreation Victoria which will assist with his travel costs for this event. We can't wait to see how he goes!
Shout out as well to our clubbies who also qualified for these championships but won't be attending - Edward Creighton, Rowena Creighton, Liana Smith, Amelie Walker and Matilda Slijkerman. Congratulations on your efforts in the pool.

Excellent work in Shepparton today by Team Mansfield! 🥇🏊‍♀️
Clara and Rowena Creighton, Liana Smith, and Joey McGuigan all backed up with some strong swims - with all of them coming away with a personal best AND a medal! Those new diving blocks must have made a difference!
Thanks to Shepparton Swimming Club for a great meet.

Many of our clubbies have experienced one of the Effortless Swimming stroke technique clinics at our pool in Mansfield - we hope to have more on the calendar in early 2027.

Great swimming from our Mansfield crew at the Wangaratta Amateur Swimming Club meet today.

Joey backed up across 5 events and walked away with 3 personal bests - brilliant racing to nail some long term goals. A great sign of the work going in at training.

Haim also had a strong day out, racing 2 x 50m events with a new PB to take home.
Proud of how our swimmers are progressing this season. Well done to everyone who raced today!

We're only a few short weeks from Country Champs (and not far off our long course season again!)

Swimming Australia’s Pho3nix Junior Excellence (JX) program recognises the performances of swimmers aged 9 – 13 to encourage and inspire the next generation of competitive swimmers.

Swimmers who accomplish times set by Swimming Australia, qualify at gold, silver, bronze or blue standard, depending on their best performances during the season.

Well done to our Team Mansfield swimmers on their achievements from May 2025 - April 2026

To our Friends of the Mansfield Pool,
The recruitment of lifeguards and learn to swim instructors has been challenging in Mansfield because of the short pool opening season and the cost of training and accreditation. By voting for this Community Impact Project there will be more opportunity to recruit persons with a variety of ages who can provide the service locally without bringing staff from other districts or requiring Mansfield residents to travel to facilities in other municipalities.
