🍦 Yo-Chi Team of the Week 🍦

This week’s spotlight goes to U11A ⭐

What a game!

Playing in torrential rain, U11A showed incredible determination to pull off a thrilling come-from-behind win, taking the game by just one goal 👏

Despite the challenging conditions, these team-first girls never gave up. They backed each other, encouraged one another, and kept fighting right through to the final whistle.

Resilience, teamwork, and belief on display were outstanding - proof that when everyone plays for each other, great things can happen.

A fantastic effort from the whole team. Well earned - enjoy the Yo-Chi 🍦👏

🍦 Yo-Chi Team of the Week 🍦

U13B! 🌟

This group has been bringing plenty of energy lately and continuing to grow stronger as a team each week 👏

After delivering strong back-to-back wins across their last two games, the hard work and improvement are really starting to show.

Great teamwork, strong effort across the court, and a positive attitude from everyone involved made this an easy choice for Team of the Week.

Awesome work U13B - enjoy the Yo-Chi 🍦👏

🍦 Yo-Chi Team of the Week 🍦

This week’s spotlight goes to U15A 🔥

A huge performance from the girls this week, delivering what the coach called their best game of the season so far 👏

From the very first whistle, the intensity and effort were on another level - and it showed on the scoreboard with a dominant 61–30 win 💪

A great effort from the whole team - well earned, enjoy the Yo-Chi 🍦👏

🍦 Yo-Chi Team of the Week 🍦

This week’s spotlight goes to U9B 💪

What a moment for this group - securing their first win of the season with a fantastic all-round team performance 👏

The players brought great energy, worked hard for each other, and never stopped backing their teammates. One of the best parts of the game was hearing the constant encouragement across the court:

“We’ve got this!” 💙

That positive team spirit, combined with a strong effort from everyone on court, made this a seriously well-earned win.

Congratulations to U9B - enjoy the Yo-Chi 🍦👏

🏐 Celebrating Our Newest Life Member – Claire Brooks 🏆

This Saturday, as part of our Life Member Appreciation Day, we are incredibly proud to recognise Claire Brooks as St Monica’s newest Life Member.

Claire’s contribution to our club over many years has helped shape the St Monica’s community both on and off the court.

Keep reading to learn more about Claire's journey with St Monica's 💙

"My journey at St Monica’s began in 2014 when my eldest daughter, Erica, joined the club playing in U9. The following season, after volunteering to be team manager, I found myself coaching her U11 team. That’s when my contribution to the club began and I continued as coach (either to Erica or to my twins when they began playing netball) up until today, although now that my girls are playing in the opens competition I am more of a team manager/coordinator rather than coach.

I found coaching to be incredibly rewarding—at times challenging, but always enjoyable. It’s an absolute privilege to watch players grow in confidence and ability, build lasting friendships, and come together as a team under your guidance. I would recommend it to anyone who has ever considered it!

In 2016, I nominated to join the committee as a general committee member. I continued on the committee in various roles including Treasurer, BBQ/canteen coordinator and Vice President, only relinquishing my position in 2025.

I was deeply honoured to be awarded Honorary Life Membership in 2025 in recognition of longstanding service to the club. The acknowledgement came as a genuine surprise, and I feel incredibly privileged to be included alongside those who have received this honour before me. St Monica’s is a community defined by the generosity and commitment of its people, and it is this spirit that makes the club so special. The friendships I’ve formed, along with the families and children I’ve had the privilege to coach, have made my time at St Monica’s truly meaningful and one I will always value."

Thank you, Claire, and all of our Life Members for your dedication, support and lasting contribution to the St Monica’s community 💙🏐

🍦 Yo-Chi Team of the Week 🍦

We’re kicking off something new this season…

Each week, we’ll be spotlighting a Yo-Chi Team of the Week, celebrating effort, teamwork, and great team spirit - thanks to the legends at Yo-Chi Prospect 🙌

First up… U11B 💪

What. A. Game.

In wet and slippery conditions on Saturday, U11B held their nerve and pulled off a 26–24 win, scoring two late goals to sn**ch it right at the end.

Composed with the ball, backing each other all over the court, and stepping up when it mattered most - this was a proper team performance.

Strong defence, fast ball movement, and plenty of energy… this group is going to be seriously fun to watch this season 👀

Missing from the photo is Bea, whose effort in the shooting circle played a key role in the win.

Well done U11B - enjoy the Yo-Chi, you’ve earned it 🍦👏 💙
