The course that changes the way you see every dive. 🛟

The PADI Rescue Diver course is where diving stops being just about you, and starts being about awareness, confidence, and looking out for the people around you.

Over the course, you’ll learn how to prevent problems before they happen, recognise stress in yourself and others, and respond calmly and effectively if things don’t go to plan. It’s practical, hands-on training that builds real-world confidence in the water.

Expect scenario-based learning, a few challenges that will stretch you, and plenty of “ah that’s what I’d do differently” moments along the way. And through it all, you’ll come out a more capable, aware, and confident diver.

It’s serious when it needs to be, but incredibly rewarding, and often the course divers say made them fall in love with diving all over again.

If you’re ready to step up, take responsibility, and become the divers and your loved ones can rely on, this is your next move. https://divesydney.com.au/padi-rescue-diver-2/

A little drizzle in Manly this morning hasn't got us pausing for a moment before jumping in the water. With flat conditions at Shelly Beach, we're gearing up to check out all the excitement of cuttlefish season. Visibility in the bay yesterday was up to 8 metres over the seagrass beds.

El and James jumped in yesterday for a stunning sunrise dive. Seven giant cuttlefish in very shallow water made for an ideal photo shoot. Add angel sharks, turtles, and schools of fish swimming through the rays of light, it was a pretty special morning underwater.

Cameron has just finished leading a trip out to the Ribbon Reefs on the Great Barrier Reef with Mike Ball Dive Expeditions in search of Dwarf Minke Whales. The reports are in, and the footage coming back looks incredible. Keep your mask clear for some upcoming videos.

June brings with it the overlapping seasons of Giant Cuttlefish and Port Jackson Sharks. With humongous Australian Giant Cuttlefish and adorable baby Port Jackson Sharks making Cabbage Tree Bay their home, now is the ideal time to jump in.

We have the last places available on our Double Guided Shore Dives this weekend. Head to the website to book your place and see for yourself what makes June diving in Sydney so good: https://divesydney.com.au/guided-shore-dives/

Who needs coffee when you can start your morning with sharks? 🦈

Next weekend we’re heading back down to Bushrangers Bay, one of NSW’s most iconic shore dives and home to one of the state’s most incredible Grey Nurse Shark aggregations.

This is the time of year when the site really comes alive. Glide through the channel alongside these gentle giants, explore the dramatic rocky reef, and keep your eyes peeled for the full supporting cast… giant cuttlefish, bull rays, Port Jackson sharks, and plenty more local characters.

Just a short drive south of Sydney, Bushrangers Bay is a true bucket-list dive and one that deserves a spot in every logbook.

Prerequisites apply: minimum 10 logged dives and Open Water certification, plus a sense of adventure. The dive is guided by one of our experienced team, with full gear hire included. Transport is available, but limited, so secure your place early.

Settling back into the groove after a busy bank holiday weekend, with both Shelly Beach and harbourside looking beautifully calm. Conditions are still absolutely stunning, with visibility yesterday sitting at a solid 10 metres and opening up even further around the point.

Yesterday’s dives were packed with life: giant cuttlefish galore, an angel shark, golden weedfish, a moorish idol, and weeping toadfish, alongside some of our usual suspects, including five octopus, two turtles, eagle rays, schools of mullet, and silver batfish.

Daz is heading straight back down to the Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve this morning with his PADI Open Water students, who are finishing off their course with three ocean dives.

What a way to celebrate World Oceans Day! 🌊💙

Yesterday, we teamed up with the Friends of Bongin Bongin Bay and launched our very first citizen-science biodiversity survey dive at this new site that we’ve recently adopted through the PADI AWARE Adopt the Blue program.

And what a start it was! Our divers recorded an abundance of marine life, including eagle rays, blue gropers, fiddler rays, estuary catfish, schools of yellowtail and countless other local residents. Every species recorded helps build a stronger case for protecting this special corner of Sydney’s coastline.

It was fantastic to see so many people come together in the spirit of community and conservation, with divers, snorkellers, local families and ocean advocates all playing their part.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us both above and below the water, and to the Friends of Bongin Bongin Bay for making this incredible day happen!

Happy World Oceans Day!

And what a way to celebrate it. The ocean has absolutely turned it on for us this morning, serving up some of the best conditions we've seen all week. Flat as a pancake, light Westerly winds and 15+ meters of visibility.

Yesterday, we celebrated World Oceans Day by joining forces with the Friends of Bongin Bongin Bay for a morning of diving and marine life surveys. Exploring a brand-new site, we conducted the area's first biodiversity survey and were rewarded with sightings of four eagle rays, estuary catfish, blue gropers, fiddler rays, schools of yellowtail, and plenty of leatherjackets and wrasse.

Back at Shelly Beach, divers enjoyed some fantastic encounters of their own. Multiple giant cuttlefish made an appearance, along with what one of our regular divers described as the biggest wobbegong she'd ever seen! Squid, black-margined and emerald nudibranchs, eastern smooth boxfish, leatherjackets and a white-eyed moray rounded out another great day underwater.

We're gearing up for a busy Bank Holiday Monday today. Daz is over at the pool with a bright-eyed group of PADI Open Water Divers. Jeevan and Matt are heading down to Shelly Beach to lead our Double Guided Shore Dive, and Jeevan will be back in the water this afternoon introducing more people to the underwater world on a Discover Scuba Dive.

If you're looking to learn something new, extend your no-stop limits and spend more time doing what we all love, which is diving, then check out our PADI Enriched Air Diver course. Find out more about the course here: https://divesydney.com.au/padi-enriched-air-diver/
