One of the unexpected highlights of travelling recently was the opportunity to meet one of my clients face to face in Birmingham. Great to have our final session in person ๐‹๐ฎ๐ข๐ณ๐๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐š๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐œ๐จ๐ฑ.

When you work with a diverse portfolio of clients, in-person meetings arenโ€™t always possible, which makes moments like these feel even more worthwhile โ€” and a reminder that investing the time to connect matters.

A very warm welcome from the team at Hitachi Energy (special mention to the front-of-house staff who were amazing ๐Ÿ‘), plus quite the view over Centenary Square.

Birmingham also holds a special place for me โ€” itโ€™s where I had my first corporate role, so every visit brings back good memories!

Theyโ€™re the ones willing to stay curious.

Curious leaders create stronger conversations, ask better questions, and stay open to learning even when things are uncertain. They understand that growth doesnโ€™t come from always being right, but from being willing to explore different perspectives and challenge old ways of thinking.

And sometimes, the most valuable thing a leader can do is pause long enough to listen, reflect, and stay open to what they might not know yet.

Big goals can feel exciting and a little overwhelming at the same time.

When it comes to habits or new behaviours, it can help to keep things simple, breaking it down into smaller steps rather than trying to do everything in one go. Sometimes even working backwards from where you want to get to.

Nothing complicated just small, intentional actions done consistently.

And maybe having someone alongside you makes it easier. Someone to check in with or keep you accountable.
