On Sunday, 15 September, we organised the Third Regional Schweizer Schützenfest (Swiss Shooting Festival), hosted by the Northern Beaches Smallbore Rifle Community (Swiss Small Bore Rifle Club) in Manly Vale. We had once again a great turn out with 18 shooters participating in the competition and over 25 people in total attending.
Shooters were organised into groups of three and competed as a team. Each competitor had 25 rounds, 5 targets set at 30 metres and were supervised by a range master from the Smallbore Club. Team scores were collated and individual scores were also recorded. Shooters were playing for the top prize, the Dusty Cow-Bell trophy and bragging-rights as best team for 2019. Second and third prizes along with prizes for the top gun shooter of the day were assorted Lindt chocolates from Lindt & Sprungli Australia and Wernli Australia Choco Petit Beurre from Dalya Australia - thank you to our sponsors for your kind donations! Congratulations to all our winners!
On the menu, we had a typical Swiss BBQ with bratwurst, cervalat and fleischkäse, fresh salad, bread and condiments. We also had miniature pavlovas and chocolate cake for dessert with hot chocolate.
We would like to thank all the participants for showing their support for their Swiss community: we hope you all had a lot of fun and enjoy your prizes! We would also like to especially thank the Smallbore Club and all the professional volunteers on the day for making this years' competition possible
