A good day in the office last night for the Mandurah Boys.
Shane " hands of Stone/black elephant " Flaherty was up 1st, 2nd last fight of the night in his 1st intermediate level fight.
1st round was close. 3 judges gave it to Shane 2 judges to his opponent. Shane boxed well landing some solid head and body shots. His general ring movement and ring IQ has improved in the last few fights.
2nd round similar to the 1st. Another 3-2 win to Shane.
3rd round tired a little bit due to the longer rounds in intermediate bouts.
Won the fight 3-2 in a closely contested bout. Good fight fighting a more experienced boxer at a higher level, Well Done
Michael " Hurricane/ White Elephant" Carter was next. Last fight of the night against 1 of the best 65kg Boxers in WA who beat Michael pretty convincingly last year.
1st round Michael started strong and boxed brilliantly in a classy contest. Did everything pretty much right. His jab, defense, angles head movement, combos were impressive. Won the round 4-1.
2nd round was similar. He looked good in a high-level contest. Taking that round 5-0.
3rd round his opponent came out hard putting a lot of pressure on Michael but Michael in most part stayed composed and absorbed the pressure in an even round.
Michael won the fight 4-1.
Very Happy with Michael, he stood up in a very difficult fight and should be proud of himself. The work Michael puts into his training is outstanding and starting to pay off.
