Final day of the Australian Dirt Kart Titles at Loxton Kart Club and what a day it was. Josh started P18 in his last race and drove the pants off it to Finnish P12. He headed off the track and asked mum if he made the final, mum said no mate get changed only to have to eat her words as Josh qualified p19 an amazing achievement in his first ever Australian titles which until 15 mins before noms closing was not even going to race. Josh amazed us all and we could not be prouder of the way he drove all weekend and the way he came out of his shell. Unfortunately mum didn’t realise on the grid that Josh’s kart had blown a head gasket and he had no compression in his motor but thanks to Joshua Thompson he got the motor kicking over and he drove the final anyway finishing in 19th. Again to just see the smile at the end of the race and how proud of himself was the best thing ever. Ben got to have a run today as well in the rookie class and boy does that boy have some get up and go. Can not thank everyone enough for all the help the boys got over the weekend, neither of the boys could race if it wasn’t for all the support they get on and off the track, from the quiet word in their ears, to pushing or assisting to get the set up correct. Janssen Racing the work you put in to both the boys is above and beyond. Condren Motorsport for lending Ben a kart and motor to be on track and to the boys sponsors Challenge Marine and Dumonde Tech - Racing Oils, Bicycle and Shooting Sports lubricants. Lastly to Rival Chassis Co Josh stepped in to his new kart this weekend and could not speak highly enough of how easy the kart was to drive, thank you.

Well day two of The Australian Dirt Kart Titles at Loxton Kart Club and what a day it was for Josh, heat 3 Josh was starting from 2nd in a very talented field, kids much older and way more experienced than him. Mum may have been very very nervous for Josh to be starting off the front row. As the green flagged dropped, so did something inside Josh, he got a ripper start and lead the race for the whole race right up until the 2nd last lap where a little error allowed a kart past. This didn’t stop Josh he battled away with 2 other karts in a real tight tussle where a little knock saw another kart slip past on the last corner before Josh received the checkered flag in 3rd place, such a massive achievement for him. Mums heart was racing the whole time (I’m sure mums heart revs may have been higher than those on Josh’s kart). Josh has absolutely loved his new ride in his Rival Chassis Co. tomorrow Josh starts from the rear of the field and with only the top 20 of 39 making the final we think Josh might only get the 1 race tomorrow. What an experience the titles has been for him. Again don’t forget tomorrow is available in Clay-Per-View there is bound to be some brilliant racing with it being the finals.

Day one of the Australian Dirt Kart Titles at Loxton Kart Club. First up the kids got a 3 lap practice run before heading in to heat 1. With 39 kids in junior lights there was bound to be some great action. Josh started p9 and got caught up behind a couple of incidents which he did well to avoid, unfortunately it got him held up for a bit, but once he got clear he hit some great pace in his brand new Rival Chassis Co kart, finishing P14. Josh came back happy and super stoked with how his new kart handles. He s excited for heat 2 & 3 tomorrow, we will try and look more at the set up of the kart. Don’t forget tomorrow is free to watch on Clay-Per-View there was some great racing today

Early last Saturday we left Perth to head to Loxton Kart Club (2300kms) for Ben and Josh to race at the Australian Dirt Kart titles which commence tomorrow. First stop was to Rival Chassis Co to pick up Josh’s new kart. Thanks to Brett Janssen, Callum Janssen (Janssen Racing) for the last minute seat fitting and bolting the motor on. Josh’s main aim for this weekend other than having fun is to try and finish all 4 races and gain some experience. Tomorrow’s action is available free on Clay-Per-View. A huge thanks to Dumonde Tech - Racing Oils, Bicycle and Shooting Sports lubricants and Challenge Marine for their ongoing sponsorship.
