Let my share my journey with you:
In high school, martial arts was my central sport. I learnt how to train and eat to become a better athlete, not just a โgood fighterโ who went through the grades. Whilst I was training, I sustained a serious injury in my back, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. The doctors told me that if I continued to participate in my sport, I would be in a wheel chair
before the age of 25. I trialled numerous physiotherapists and chiropractors, without success, until one day I met a great physiotherapist who treated my injury through rehabilitation, instead of 'putting a blanket over it' and telling me "I can't". Realising my injuries would probably hold me back from my dream of becoming professional athlete, I made the decision to alter my goal. My new dream was to become a trainer and rehabilitate athletes. I furthered my studies and during this time, gained employment working 24/7 as a Case Manager for a rehabilitation provider. The job was very demanding but I thoroughly enjoyed it. My time was taken up too much by the work load, and I forgot about myself. I was pretty much eating whatever I wanted. After being so disciplined for so long, I allowed myself a break. Suddenly, I weighed 20kgs heavier. One day I looked in the mirror, took a good hard look, and thought, "You need to do something about this." I then trusted my instincts and made a decision, to throw my job in after 3 years. I took my first steps into a gym. I didn't really know what I was in for or what I had created for myself but I knew this was my future. I studied to become a Personal Trainer, worked numerous hours unpaid in my local gyms, grabbing all the experience I could. Through my hands on experience, it gave me further confirmation that I was on the right path. I was finally hired at one of the local gyms. I slowly started to build up a group of clientele, training them to reach their personal fitness goals one step at a time. Then within the first few months, I had more clients then I knew what to do with. People were getting such great results in such a short time that the word just spread around. As I started to grow I knew I couldn't stop just there so then I decided to opened my own business AMP Up Fitness and furthered my studies, obtaining a qualification in Nutrition. I was then not only able to increase my client's fitness, I could then improve clients health and eating habits. As I started programming for clients nutrition, I found out that there were so many myths and barriers that people were lead to believe, I just had to do something about it. I researched into many dietary supplements, fad diets and sport enhancement drugs. This is when I heard about TSN- Total Sport Nutrition. I furthered my research and soon realized I was onto something good. I then started taking these products personally, I even started experimenting with recipes. After a couple of months I started to see my body change more, feeling stronger and generally feeling better. This lead me to decide to do a 10 week competition preparation. After 10 weeks I dropped 10kg, I entered INBA Season WA 2015 in May. I was able to enjoy the moment on stage as I knew I worked so hard to be up there. Unfortunately I did not place for my first time but took so much away from it and will be back next year. Aiming to be stronger and better than before. Whilst I keep training hard I will be chasing my dream to take what I've learnt from training with celebrities and other professional athletes, to be able to give it to everybody. I want to inspire people through exercise and nutrition. If you can inspire somebody, you can change a life. Having a six pack isn't going to do you any good, but if you can create a positive change in another person, you've set him or her up for success. My life has been a perfect example of that. My journey continues...
