End in an Era.

Today was the last day of my personal training career.

I have honestly loved my time as a coach. To me coaching was a job that never really felt like a job. I used to tell people that it felt like I always on holidays despite working 6-7 days of the week.

Thank you to all my clients, work colleagues and mentors over the last 12 years. I’m incredibly grateful to have worked with you all.

I will post some memories of my time as coach on my story.

I always think it’s funny listening to a male talk about the menstrual cycle and how women can base their training around it.

On the days that women are stronger, push them more, and on the days that they are weaker or aren’t feeling 💯, back off the intensity.

Programming around the menstrual cycle is stupid ✌️

Mr SchneABLAY teaching how to effectively warm up for training

It’s called a warm up because the goal is to increase core body temperature.

It’s pretty simple.

5 minutes doing any of the following will leave you feeling more mobile and ready to train than any amount of foam rolling or stretching would.

Assault bike
Rowing machine
Running intervals
Med ball throws
Core work

The idea is to put some intensity into it to get the point where you start sweating

If you take 60 minutes to do your sets of squats you’re probably just unfit.

Although strength training is mostly anaerobic in nature. If you haven’t got a good aerobic capacity you will likely find it hard to recover between sets.

However if you DO have a good aerobic capacity, you’re ability to clear the byproducts that cause fatigue will be quicker. This will enable you to reproduce the work in a shorter time frame.

You don’t actually need do that much cardio training to get the benefits. Just 5-10 minutes at the end of your workouts. Maybe do some interval work a couple times a week? Maybe play a sport socially?

Or if you really suck and can’t walk up stairs without gasping for air. Just walk more, instead of doing 2000 steps a day maybe do 6000
