The disappointment of losing last Tuesday's Grand Final was replaced today with euphoria. Main Ridge today won its 7th Grand Final in 8 years with an excruciatingly tight game against Rosebud Beach.
Just four points separated the teams at the end with Rosebud having taken a 1 point lead with 7 ends to play. Nerves were gangling on all rinks but Main Ridge drew on its vast finals experience to sneak over the line. Well done to all who have contributed throughout the season and commiserations to Rosebud Beach who battled hard all day in a game played in the very best spirit.

One semi-final down, one to go.
Main Ridge has earned a spot in the Grand Final by beating Beluera 52 - 50 in the Major Semi-Final last Tuesday. Nerves were jangling with 2 ends to play and the scores locked at 50 all. Skips, Glenn Gebert and Jonathan O'Sullivan duly won their final ends by one shot to secure the GF spot and a week off.
MR can repeat this feat on Saturday having once again secured top spot on the ladder and a berth in the Major Semi-Final. A win at home against Rosebud Beach will not only send the team into the GF but go some way to avenging MR's only Grand Final defeat in the last 7 years. Bring it on!

A nail-biting end to the home and away season saw Main Ridge finish top of the ladder following a come-from-behind win over Blue Hills yesterday. Down by six shots overall at the break, MR rallied to win all three rinks and secure a home semi-final next Tuesday against Beleura. A win will see MR go straight into the Grand Final and a week's rest.
Surprisingly MR have a chance to finish on top of the ladder on Saturday as well following a surprise defeat to Rosebud Beach at home to Somerville. A win at home on Saturday to Mornington Civic will secure top spot and a valuable home semi-final.
All to play for................fingers crossed.

After a grinding 2 hours on the green, Jonathan O'Sullivan emerged as this year's Club Singles Champion, winning 25 - 11. Congratulations to Ian Sharkie on making his first Singles Final. Jonathan will now go on to represent Main Ridge in the Champion of Champions to be held in March.

Everything to play for next Saturday when Main Ridge plays host to Blue Hills. Only one point separates the two teams with Main Ridge just holding on to top spot on the ladder despite going down to Mount Eliza away today. It's sure to be a tight contest.

These boys once again did Main Ridge proud coming 3rd in today's Medley event at Flinders. It has to be said that if the same scoring system as last year was used, we would have won!
Our watertight case has been sent to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport. We await developments.
