Spring is the perfect time to get back on court, improve your game and make the most of the school holidays!

At Stellar Tennis Academy, we have a range of options for kids, adults, beginners, experienced players and current students.

🎾 PRIVATE HOLIDAY TENNIS CLINICS
Designed for kids aged 6 to 14. Bring a group of friends or siblings and enjoy a private clinic together. Sessions can be held at either Dromana or Main Ridge Tennis Club.

🎾 PRIVATE TENNIS LESSONS
Personalised coaching for all ages and levels, available in 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions. Perfect for improving technique, building confidence, fitness and match preparation.
Already a current student? Keep your level up throughout the holidays and avoid losing momentum before Term 4 begins.

We are proud to support the Rosebud Hospital BIG Picture Appeal, raising funds towards a new CT scanner for our local hospital.

Join us on Sunday 11 October from 12pm at Main Ridge Tennis Club for our Club Championship Day & AGM, where we will be holding a fundraising raffle with some great prizes up for grabs!

Every dollar raised will help make a difference, with donations being matched dollar for dollar up to $250,000 by Community Bank Southern Peninsula.

Becoming a professional tennis player should be the main reason a child plays tennis.

Tennis can create many different pathways, and sometimes you don’t realise where they can lead until you start walking down them.

🎾 Education
Playing tennis can create opportunities through school teams, university programs and scholarships, including opportunities overseas.

🎾 Competition
Starting at local competitions can build experience and confidence, opening the door to higher levels such as state, national and eventually international competition.

🎾 Career
Being involved in tennis can lead to careers in coaching, fitness, sports science, physiotherapy, management, officiating and running a tennis business.

🎾 Connections
Tennis brings children into contact with coaches, players, clubs, schools and communities. These relationships can create opportunities that extend well beyond the tennis court.

🎾 Life
Learning tennis gives them a skill they can carry for life. They can continue playing socially, stay active, travel, meet people and remain connected to the sport long after competitive tennis finishes.

And if a child dreams of becoming a professional player, we shouldn’t discourage that either.

If they have the passion, ability and determination, give them the opportunity to find out how far they can go.

Professional tennis is one pathway. It shouldn’t be the only reason a child plays tennis.

This school holidays I’m introducing a new 90 minute Express Clinic format.

Rather than spending 3 hours on court, these sessions are designed to keep the energy high from start to finish. Kids stay engaged, get more quality coaching, play plenty of games, and leave wanting more instead of feeling tired by the end.

❄️ Winter is honestly one of the most important times for tennis development.

It is easy to train when the weather is warm, the sun is out and everything feels comfortable. But real improvement usually comes during the colder months when motivation drops, conditions get tougher and showing up becomes harder.

That is where character starts getting built.

The players who keep turning up through winter learn resilience, discipline and how to push through discomfort. Those lessons carry far beyond tennis as well.

Progress in sport and life rarely comes from waiting for perfect conditions. It comes from consistently showing up and doing the work even when it would be easier not to. 🎾

‼️ IMPORTANT WEATHER UPDATE ‼️

Dear parents and clients,

As we move into the colder months, weather conditions can occasionally become a little unpredictable. Tennis is a year round sport and we always aim to keep lessons running whenever conditions are safe and suitable for play.

Please note that lessons will only be cancelled when the court surface becomes excessively wet and unsafe. This is mainly due to the movement requirements of tennis and the type of footwear used on court. If there is only light drizzle and the courts are still considered safe, lessons will continue as normal.

Windy conditions are also generally not a reason for cancellation unless the weather is considered extremely unsafe for outdoor activity, which is quite rare.

Unless you receive a cancellation message directly from us, please assume that your lesson is going ahead as scheduled.

There may also be occasions where weather conditions change during a lesson. In those situations we will always do our best to continue safely and complete as much of the session as possible.

🎾 Cardio Tennis is Back! 🎾

Stay active, social and keep the heart pumping through the cooler weather with our fun and energetic Cardio Tennis sessions.

Each session includes drills, games, movement and plenty of fun for all levels.

📍 Dromana Tennis Club
• Tuesdays at 5:15pm
• Wednesdays at 5:15pm
• Thursdays at 10:45am

• Mondays at 10:00am
• Thursdays at 6:45pm

🎾 JUST DOUBLES 🎾

I’ve started running doubles-only sessions through Stellar Tennis Academy because I realised most players rarely get the chance to actually train doubles properly.

A lot of people play doubles every week — pennant, social, club comps — but almost nobody works on the positioning, movement, communication and patterns that make a huge difference once the match starts.

That’s what these sessions are about.

We work on:
✔ Where to move and position properly
✔ How to play better as a team
✔ Net play and doubles tactics
✔ Smarter shot selection and decision-making
✔ Real match situations and point construction

The groups are kept small (max 6 players) so everyone gets proper court time, coaching and feedback throughout the session.

The atmosphere is relaxed, social and competitive in a good way. Good people, good tennis, and sessions designed to actually help your doubles game improve — not just feed balls for an hour.

If you enjoy doubles and want to become more confident and smarter on court, you’ll get a lot out of these sessions.
