Our lil’ old Maffra Saturday pennant section one premier team just won the Tennis Victoria State Championships for our section by one set. We came a draw after normal play that ran over a two day weekend, and then our wonderful MLTC Club coach Anthony Glynn with Dylan Board stepped up to win a super tiebreaker 10/7 to get the result. GO MAFFRA 🎾🖤❤️💪 Congrats Alecia Dignan, Erika Allen, Anthony Glynn, Dylan Board, and Julie Foat. Thomas Foley and Declan Simons was there with us in tennis spirit 🙌

That’s a wrap on another incredible MLTC Easter Tournament🎾🏆🐇

A total of 325 players battled it out across 45 events, playing 593 matches over four huge days.

Our 99th tournament wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers. From organising draws and keeping matches running smoothly (even through Friday’s drizzle), to organising catering, court prep, cleaning, and keeping players fuelled and hydrated - thank you to the amazing people behind the scenes.

Next year marks a huge milestone as we celebrate 100 years of our beloved Easter Tournament, which is widely considered Gippsland’s oldest annual tournament.

We know many of you have been part of it for decades, and we can’t wait to see you back. We’ll set the stage - you bring the tennis and the vibes!

🏆CHAMPIONS🏆

Congratulations, Jack Clements and Ksenija Varesanovic, the 2026 Maffra Lawn Tennis Club Easter Tournament Men's and Ladies' Presidents Cup Singles champions.

Jack was one of 18 men coveting the green jacket this year, ultimately defeating Sam Young-Mathers 6-4, 6-4 in today's final.

Jack's path to the final included victories over Cooper Millett in the round of 16 (6-4, 6-1); Chris Millidonis (6-2, 6-1) in the quarter final; and third seed Alex McDonald in the semi final (6-2, 6-2).

This stellar run saw Jack reclaim the green jacket for a second time, after success in 2019.

This year, following a stint at college in the US, Jack also partnered with Mitch Allman; the pair won a second Open Doubles title together against Bryce Devlin and Aaron Rodrigues 6-2, 6-2 this afternoon.

Ksenija reclaimed the title she won most recently in 2024, ending Amber Archer's run with a 6-3, 6-0 victory in this morning's final.

The champion has brought her arsenal of powerful groundstrokes to our tournament year after year, also having success in Open Doubles and Mixed Doubles in the past.

It's no wonder Ksenija entered the tournament as the favourite and number one seed this year.

She delivered in the semi-final, defeating Bella Prince 6-4, 6-0 before carrying that same efficiency into the final.

How many more titles will the pair claim?
