Two key things to note are:
1. You will need a PlayHQ account - if you have this from another sport, you can use that same account. If not, you will need to create a new PlayHQ account
2. You will need a CricketID - please note, this is NOT your MyCricket ID

When you register, you will answer some basic questions relating to your playing status and you will be prompted to pay your registration fee, and a Cricket Australia (CA) fee ($22). This CA fee is only paid once per season per player, so if you have registered elsewhere already for the 2023/24 season, you won't pay this CA fee a second time for the upcoming season.

ALL registrations MUST be completed through PlayHQ by the participants - we CANNOT complete the registrations centrally on your behalf.

COACHING OPPORTUNITY: One of our local community clubs is looking for a coach for its Women’s Senior Cricket team. A great opportunity to support the development of female cricket in our local area. Full details below.

Perth Scorchers Women’s League Squad
Whitfords and Districts Cricket Club

Whitfords Women’s team are seeking a coach to continue their excellent start in the PSWL over the last two seasons. With back-to-back Grand Final appearances, the reigning Premiers are looking to consolidate their development to date, and expand the squad over the next few years.

The current squad is an enthusiastic and welcoming group, with a wide range of experience, skills and ages. We value the enjoyment of playing cricket in a supportive environment, whilst striving to improve our skills and produce competitive performances. We have already commenced pre-season training, and are looking for a coach to take us forward into the season. All matches in this league are modified T20 format, and usually take place on Sundays at 2pm.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Assist players with technical development in all areas of the game
• Attend training at least one night per week during pre-season and season (Tuesday or Thursday) at MacDonald Reserve, Padbury
• Run training drills, including nets, fielding and centre wicket practice
• Attend matches on Sunday afternoons and assist with preparation and in-game strategy
• Provide support and mentorship to the leadership group
There is also potential to liaise with the Whitfords Junior CC, to develop pathways for younger players.

Skills and Qualities:
We are looking for a coach who is enthusiastic about women’s sport, and who can encourage participation and development in a supportive environment. The successful applicant will have:
• The ability to coach novice players in basic technique
• The ability to co-ordinate a training programme across all areas of cricket, including fielding
• Sound communication skills, and a patient and encouraging personal style
• Willingness to commit to the squad values and code of conduct
• Previous experience playing or coaching cricket at any level (desired)

Remuneration:
The Club will provide the successful applicant with:
• Payment of 23/24 season fees at Whitfords, if applicable
• Free entry to all Whitfords social events for the 23/24 season
• Club Bar card valued at $250.00
• Two meal vouchers for Varsity Whitfords
• Support to gain Coaching Accreditation if required

EXCITING NEWS: We are very pleased to announce that Bhavi Devchand will be returning to play at the Wanneroo Districts Cricket Club as we move into the Female A Grade competition in Season 2023/24.

As a member of the inaugural WDCC Mike Hussey Female Cricket Academy that was overseen by Greg Williams, Bhavi has since represented Gloucestershire, Victoria, Western Australia, Perth Scorchers and the Melbourne Stars as a talented all-rounder.

Bhavi is well known to our players and families at Wanneroo and has leant her support to the development of our female cricket pathway as both a coach and as a mentor through her 'Inside Edge Project'. You can read more about Bhavi's personal journey in cricket at this link - it's a great story:

As part of her continuing contribution to our Club, Bhavi is keen to share her experience and insights to help mentor others.
