Whitfords and Districts Cricket Club
Whitfords Women’s team are seeking a coach to continue their excellent start in the PSWL over the last two seasons. With back-to-back Grand Final appearances, the reigning Premiers are looking to consolidate their development to date, and expand the squad over the next few years.
The current squad is an enthusiastic and welcoming group, with a wide range of experience, skills and ages. We value the enjoyment of playing cricket in a supportive environment, whilst striving to improve our skills and produce competitive performances. We have already commenced pre-season training, and are looking for a coach to take us forward into the season. All matches in this league are modified T20 format, and usually take place on Sundays at 2pm.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Assist players with technical development in all areas of the game
• Attend training at least one night per week during pre-season and season (Tuesday or Thursday) at MacDonald Reserve, Padbury
• Run training drills, including nets, fielding and centre wicket practice
• Attend matches on Sunday afternoons and assist with preparation and in-game strategy
• Provide support and mentorship to the leadership group
There is also potential to liaise with the Whitfords Junior CC, to develop pathways for younger players.
Skills and Qualities:
We are looking for a coach who is enthusiastic about women’s sport, and who can encourage participation and development in a supportive environment. The successful applicant will have:
• The ability to coach novice players in basic technique
• The ability to co-ordinate a training programme across all areas of cricket, including fielding
• Sound communication skills, and a patient and encouraging personal style
• Willingness to commit to the squad values and code of conduct
• Previous experience playing or coaching cricket at any level (desired)
Remuneration:
The Club will provide the successful applicant with:
• Payment of 23/24 season fees at Whitfords, if applicable
• Free entry to all Whitfords social events for the 23/24 season
• Club Bar card valued at $250.00
• Two meal vouchers for Varsity Whitfords
• Support to gain Coaching Accreditation if required
