FEATURE: Ng Saad set to power Wander Women, Hunter returns to Sky Blues, Mariners boost squad with Young Matildas’ stars

Western Sydney Wanderers’ fans have plenty to be excited about in front of goals this season, with Blue Mountains youngster Allyssa Ng Saad set to add plenty of firepower to the Red and Black for the 2025-26 A-League Women’s season.

The 17-year-old Ng Saad netted a goal in last Saturday’s friendly with Canberra United, adding to an ever growing tally against her name. Ng Saad has scored goals everywhere she went, bagging plenty for Gladesville Ravens in this year’s NSW NPLW competition. She even netted against the Wanderers in Gladesville’s 2-1 win in July.

The former Blacktown Spartans and Marconi junior, will be part of a formidable front third for the Wander Women alongside Cushla Rue, Holly Caspers and new Chinese international signing Cong Yuan.

The Wander Women take on Perth Glory on Friday night in their season opener at Wanderers Football Park.

Meanwhile Sydney FC have produced a major coup, signing multiple championship winner Sarah Hunter for the upcoming A-League Women’s season.

Hunter, who was capped by the Matildas in 2023, returns home after two years at Paris FC in France.

The former Western Sydney Wanderers starlet will be a welcome addition to Ante Juric’s squad who take on Melbourne City on Saturday afternoon.

Reigning champions Central Coast Mariners have boosted their squad with Young Matilda’s’ stars Avaani Prakash and Jynaya Dos Santos set to call Gosford home this summer.

The Mariners host Adelaide United on Sunday at home.
