๐ 8 Seconds Violation Tribute ๐๏ธ
In basketball, an 8-second violation means time has run out.
On June 8, 2026, our basketball community lost a fellow brother, Rene Baterbonia 2.0. Though many of us in the Mackay Filipino-Australian Basketball Community never had the chance to meet him personally or share the court with him, we deeply feel the sadness of his passing.
Basketball connects us beyond teams, cities, and even countries. It creates a brotherhood that unites us through our love for the game.
Today, we honor Reneโs memory and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and teammates. May they find strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.
The clock may have stopped, but the memories and impact he left behind will remain forever.
Rest in peace, Rene "Bobet" Baterbonia. ๐๐๏ธโค๏ธ
