🏏Season 2026/27 Starts Tomorrow 🏏

Senior Cricket Season officially starts tomorrow with Pioneer Valley nominating 3 teams into the competition. The club has a wealth of youth and experience in the field this season along with a few players making their debuts.

Fantastic joint effort today with parents from Pioneer Valley and Earl Neilsen and his U15 team and parents from Pinnacle rolling up their sleeves to give the nets at Mirani Primary school some much needed TLC. Both clubs will be looking to train there this season. Many hands make light work.

With the help of the Mackay Regional Council and Harrup Park with works being done by On Demand Property Solutions and Carpet One a new concrete wicket is being put in over the next month and the entire oval being top dressed in the very near future. Cricket in the Valley for the future is looking promising.

A Big 🎉 Congratulations 🎉 to one of our Junior female players 💥 Paytton Thompson 💥who has been selected in the U16 Toombul team to play in the Taveners League in Brisbane.

The Taveners competition is held in Brisbane over three weekends through September and October against several Premier Division teams from the Sunshine coast and across clubs in Brisbane.

Well done Paytton. Head down now, train hard and put your best foot forward. Your club is behind you.

Big shout out to one of our young super stars Ava Woodward on making the Capricornia 13-14 School Girls team.

Ava is off to Bundaberg in November to play in the QLD Schools Carnival.

Paytton and Rav Lucky Sidhu representing today at the Test Match. The girls lucky enough to carry the team flags. Word is Paytton had a fat chat with Nathan Lyon (very out of character for her 🤣) offering some advise on the best plan for his batting. Must have worked with him being not at the end of the innings

Some of our girls got to listen to a legend of Australian cricket today, Merv Hughes. He gave some fantastic advice on training and game day practices. Not that they knew who he was 🤣
