Wide Bay Series – Tin Can Bay

Earlier this month, a small group of our Mackay Stingers headed down to Tin Can Bay to take part in the Wide Bay Series!

A huge thank you to Rockhampton Dragon Boat Club for welcoming us and letting our Stingers join their crew for the day. We had an absolute blast getting out on the water, racing alongside some great paddlers!

And a very special CONGRATULATIONS to Norrie on completing her final sweep assessment! 🎉👏 What an achievement — we’re so proud to see another Stinger stepping up and developing her skills on and off the boat.

Thanks to everyone who made the day such a fun one. We love seeing our club members getting out there, representing the Stingers and being part of the wider dragon boat community!

🏆 Time to Shine – Women in Sport! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Loretta and Pam, who were both very lucky to receive a Magpies ‘Time to Shine – Women in Sport’ $500 grant! 🎉

These grants will go towards supporting the ongoing development of Mackay Stingers and helping our club continue to grow, develop and support our members.

We’re incredibly proud of both Loretta and Pam for their dedication, commitment and passion for dragon boating. We’re so grateful to Magpies Sporting Club for supporting women in sport and helping our members chase their goals at the highest level!

A great day out supporting our local community! 🚴‍♀️

Today, some of our club members volunteered at the BMA River to Reef Ride, helping support racers with vehicle travel throughout the race.

We love being able to lend a hand at local community events held here at the Marina and play our part in making these events a success.

What a fantastic day representing the Mackay Stingers at the TDBC Intercity Dragon Boat Regatta!

A small group of our paddlers made the trip to take part in a day filled with great racing, teamwork, and plenty of laughs.

A big thank you to TDBC for hosting such a well-run event, to all the volunteers and officials who made the regatta possible, and to every club that helped create such a welcoming atmosphere.
