Go Grey for May β€πβ€
Spread awareness for Childhood Brain Cancer.
I am doing my part, in spreading awareness for Childhood Cancer. In particular, DIPG, for obvious reasons. My 8 year old baby girl was taken from us, far too soon, from this Cancer.
For many parents of past and current battlers, myself included, it is easy to be swept up into a whirlwind of absolute grief, sadness and anger. It would be easy to say the world is s**t, nothings fair and what's the point of living a happy comfortable life, right? It would be easy to shut down and loose yourself completely. After all, you have experienced the absolute worst thing a parent can endure.
For me, this would not be a fair reflection of my life, and all the happiness I have been blessed with as a mother to my 3 beautiful children β€
The world is not s**t. My world has been full of life, love, laughing so much it hurt, colour and wonderful experiences! Mia chose me to be her mum, and I enjoyed every minute! Even when she would drive me nuts haha she was such a clown and always made me smile π
Her heart, was so big and she loved so much! She was her little sisters best friend and worst enemy. She loved to draw and colour and had a really artistic eye. She was easy. An easy baby, and the kind of daughter any mother would hope to have! She made me proud, every single day! ππ©βπ§
Yes at times, things do not go the way we plan. But for me, it is important to focus on the positives. I am lucky as a parent, to be able to say that I did my best and was a good mum. No measure of time would be enough, but we had a really full happy 8 years π Mia knew how much she was loved and cherished by us all. This showed in every aspect of Mia and her personality β€β€
Its okay to be angry and sad, and its okay to be okay. Mia is with me, and I am with her. She is never ever gone, always in my heart. The pain is so severe, because my love was so strong. I endeavor to live life, in time, to be happy and create more amazing memories and experiences, be a loving wife and mother to Quinn and CJ, just like Mia had.
I hope that I have reached enough people, and opened their eyes to DIPG. Let Mia's face, be your motivation to learn more and spread the word. Ask me any questions you like and I will be honest and open. I will appreciate it actually, knowing you are following and supportive of our journey, and many others in the same boat π
Before Mia's diagnosis, nobody knew of DIPG. My hope now, is that most of you do πππ
Thankyou for your support. Ill leave you with this photo of my absolute little clown haha Mia and her cat Hank xx π»π§
