APRIL POST NATAL PROGRAM 💫

Our April Program wrapped up this week and over the past six weeks, these new mums have shown up for themselves to support their post natal bodies, and laid strong foundations for their future fitness goals.

The ‘Return to Exercise’ Program is not about “bouncing back.”

It’s about education and moving forward with knowledge, confidence, and a body that feels capable and strong.

Over the program we focused on:

✔️ Understanding the post natal body
✔️ Breathing, core and pelvic floor re-connection
✔️ Strength and movement foundations
✔️ Gradual progression of strength and cardio fitness
✔️ Building confidence for a safe return to exercise

A group of new mums who started as strangers, coming together each week to move, laugh, and support one another - forming a connection that will last beyond the training room 🫶🏻

Showing up when exhausted from new mum life is not easy. But being surrounded by others who truly get it makes a difference.

Congratulations to you all for working through the program and trusting the process. It has been a privilege to be part of your journey. 💕🙏🏼

MACKAY MARINA RUN 2026 🏃🏼‍♀️

Happy snaps with some very happy girls!! 🙌🏼

We had entrants in all the distances - first time 5km participants, returning 5km runners with a goal to chase, first time half marathoners and 10km runners!! 🏆

Congrats to you all for committing to give it a go!! 🙌🏼

The icing on the cake were the results - our two first time half marathoners absolutely smashed their goal times!! Not bad considering they only started running last year! 🥹

Some great 5km results and times as well - some fast PBs! 🤩

And of course our girls achieving all different personal milestones - longest distance or fastest time after 1, 2, 3 babies 🫶🏻

Awesome results all round and fun memories for another great event!!

We LOVE the Mackay Marina Run and a huge congrats to the committee and thanks to all the volunteers for another amazing year! 🙏🏼

Amazing to see it growing and the support from all of Mackay!!

MACKAY MARINA RUN!! 🏃🏼‍♀️

On the eve of this year’s Mackay Marina Run here’s some flashback pics of the teams we’ve entered over the years!!

Love a good trip down memory lane - from the first year we entered in 2011 right through to 2022 in our final year as Red E Personal Training 🥹 and now as Female Fitness Co.!

Its was definitely our fave yearly event to be part of!! 🤩

Super STOKED our Female Fitness Co girls will be out there for the second year running - from 5kms to the Half Marathon, some specia goals are about to be achieved!! 🩷🖤🤍

Wishing all the best to all the teams, and individual runners over all the distances tomorrow!! 🏃🏼‍♀️

You’re already a winner for signing up and getting on that start line. Whatever happens from there is a bonus!

This is such an incredible local event and to see the RECORD huge numbers of entrants is testament the wonderful job the committee and volunteers do! 🙌🏼

GLOBAL RUNNING DAY 🏃🏼‍♀️

Running season is in full swing and the popularity of running events rises every year!! Have you caught the bug yet?! 🤩

Today is Global Running Day, which is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. 🏃🏼‍♀️

It helps promote the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of an active lifestyle 🙌🏼

And with the fast pace of life these days, a short run, jog, or walk, in the outdoors may be the best thing for your overall health.

You will ALWAYS feel better after getting outside and moving your body!! 🌿☀️

Running is one of the most easily accessible ways to get exercise in…

> There’s no cost, no entry level, no pressure!

Just put on your shoes, and head out the door. 👟

Here’s some tips to get started:
➢ Start slow
➢ Short Intervals
➢ Ample Recovery
➢ Invest in appropriate shoes
➢ Stretch
➢ Be kind to yourself and your expectations
➢ Trust the program

HELPING MOTHERS, HELPING BABIES 🤍

In many countries, as many as 1 in 5 new mothers experiences some type of perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMADs).

Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day, part of Maternal Mental Health awareness week from 4-10th May. 🤍

As a coach working with mums from early post-partum, I see it all the time - women showing up and doing their best, while carrying so much beneath the surface.

Post-partum isn’t just physical recovery, your mental health matters just as much.

When times feel challenging, don’t have to push through or do it alone.

Support, guidance and honest conversations should be the normalised and knowing that there is support out there.

If this stage of life feels heavier than you expected, you’re not the only one - and you’re not meant to navigate it unsupported.

April was full of action, even with our school holiday break 🙌🏼

At the very beginning of the month the February Post Natal Program finished and at the end, the April Program commenced! 🙌🏼

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 💞

Friday 10 October is World Mental Health Day, and this year Australia’s theme is ‘Connect with your Community.’

It’s the perfect day to be reminded that sometimes, the simple things are often the best: a walk or run, a chat with a friend, or just being with your people.

It’s these moments of talking, listening and spending time together that help us feel connected.

As busy women, we often neglect to do the things that make us feel good... so here’s your reminder to schedule a catch-up with a friend. Lock in a training date. Or make a time for a simple phone call.

Reach out for support when you need, reach out to your friends if you feel the need support - and make those connections with your crew. It might change their whole day! ✨
