Welcome to Macedon Auskick 2022
Here are a few tips & reminders on how things run & what you can expect. Enjoy:)
LOCATION
Tony Clarke Reserve, 37 Waterfalls Road, Macedon
START TIME
8:30am sharp, running for 1 hr. STAY WITH YOUR KIDS
Parents, please stay at the ground! Reasons: the kids are not old enough to be left there; they love to have someone watching them; we need your help to teach th
em footy skills; it’s quite social & you don’t want to miss out. WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
There are no hard & fast rules for Auskick as it’s all about the kids having fun. If you have a 1st time Auskicker, you might find these tips helpful.
• Layers. Start with a long-sleeved top under their favourite team jumper. Then add a sweatshirt that they can easily take off when they get warmed up. Shorts under tracksuit pants works well too.
• Footy boots are not compulsory but they are helpful as the ground gets slippery.
• Gloves are a great idea for keeping little hands warm. Not too big & thick though as they won’t be able to handle the ball. Netball gloves are perfect – they cost about $20 & can be found (among other places) at:

BOOT SWAP
We will have a box of 2nd hand boots available for the first few weeks. First come first served, & if you have any boots you no longer need, please feel free to donate them. WEATHER
If the weather turns truly awful, & we have to cancel the session, we will let you know through the Macedon Auskick page, plus we will email you directly. If there is enough interest, we will run the cancelled session at the end of the season. Note: we have never actually cancelled a session! – assume we are going ahead unless you hear otherwise. EVERYONE LOVES BREAKFAST! One of the things we all love on a winter’s morning is a hot breakfast, & Macedon Auskick does it well. To spread the load of producing this time-honoured meal, we run a roster of people to help out each week. Assuming we have 80 parents there, & we need 4 helpers per week, over 10 weeks, then you will only be rostered on once. Of course, if helping out is your thing, feel free to nominate yourself as often as you want. We will organise the roster on the 1st day, & will try to include 1 person who’s done it before on the roster each week. If you need to swap your rostered week because you have another commitment, please organise it directly with the other person & let the coordinators know by emailing us at [email protected]. HELPNG THE COACHES
If you are not on a rostered duty, please be prepared to jump in & give the coaches a hand to run drills, help get bibs on & off, & run the line during games. You don’t need to know what you’re doing – the coaches will tell you & you will pick it up quickly. Great, see you there!
