The lighting upgrade at LBC is proceeding with the following information most of which you all know, but there is more to it. Please read:

Current Activities and Importance of Proper Lighting

We currently have Night Eagles and Pennants for approximately 100+ community members, providing connection and entertainment for the local community throughout the summer months. These events are a significant part of our club’s calendar and rely heavily on the availability of quality lighting.

Challenges with Existing Lighting

The Committee would appreciate financial assistance from both members and the wider community. The reason for this is that the lights currently in use on both greens are not only expensive to operate, but they also fail to meet the required standards for our sport and are in need of replacement.

Additional Upgrades and Costs

It is not just the lights themselves that need attention; the existing towers and wiring also require replacement to comply with new technical codes. The lowest quote we have received for this essential work is $85,000.

Funding Situation and Call for Member and Community Support

Unfortunately, the LBC does not have the full amount saved. While we have been actively applying for grants in the hope of covering at least half the cost, our efforts have so far been unsuccessful, probably due to the investment in the new Barossa Park football and cricket club. We have a $50,000 loan from The Barossa Council but there will still be a shortfall. As a result, we are now seeking donations to help fund the replacement of the existing lights.

Go Fund Me Fundraising Initiative

To make it easier for members and the local community to contribute towards the cost of replacing the lights, we have established a Go Fund Me page. This platform allows anyone interested in supporting our upgrade efforts to donate directly and securely.

We are grateful for any amount you can give, as every bit helps us move closer to our goal. Your generosity will play an important role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, compliant and enjoyable for all.

Please share and thank you for your support. We will all benefit from new Led a lighting.

The club will be closed on Friday night this week.
A number of people are attending the 2026 Bowls SA awards night to support Jeff Pratt in his nomination so there won’t be people to run the club social night.

Good luck Jeff. We hope you win. 🍷🎉🥂👏

Friday night Social Nights at the club are on again from 5pm.
As we don’t have our chef preparing food for these nights, some of us decided to have soup and bread. This week is covered, but we need people to volunteer to cook soup and provide bread on a roster. Please let Kathy know if you can go on the roster and when.

Looking forward to seeing more people at the club for social nights.

Hi everyone, my apologies for being absent for a while. Back on deck again now.
A reminder that the club is open for business tonight - hooray 🎉

I have been asked to mention that after winning the club championship singles Marion Kenyon played the association singles at Eudunda. All the games played were very competitive and although Marion didn't get through to the finals she played very well. A job well done Marion. Sorry it’s taken me so long to put this out.

Looking forward to seeing people again at the club

A reminder for the AGM will be sent out soon
