1st Grade took on a strong Merrylands outfit on Saturday in slippery, drizzly conditions and looked in control for much of the match, leading right up until the last minutes.

The boys showed plenty of intensity and commitment throughout the game, but Merrylands finished strong late to take the result. Congratulations to Merrylands on the win and on celebrating Back to Merrylands Day.

Focus now shifts to this weekend’s local derby. Get down and support the Bears and Yowies in what promises to be a big day of rugby.

2nd Grade faced a strong Merrylands Rugby Union Club side in tough drizzly conditions on Saturday afternoon. Despite the result not going our way, the boys kept battling right to the final whistle and showed plenty of grit throughout the contest.

Congratulations to Merrylands on the win and on celebrating Back to Merrylands Day — a great occasion for the club and community.

Attention now turns to this weekend’s local derby, as we get behind Yowies and 1st Grade in what’s always a big day of rugby. With a few scheduled weeks off coming up, the focus remains on building consistency, continuing to improve, and putting in the work together.

A massive thank you to our major sponsor, Masos. ❤️🖤

From the very beginning of the Georges River Dropbears journey, Maso’s - Your Local Club has backed our club every step of the way. Whether it’s providing a home for our Thursday night team dinners, hosting match day speeches, or creating a place for players, coaches, supporters and families to come together — their support has been enormous.

Community clubs are built on people and partnerships like this. The support from Masos helps keep our culture strong, our players connected and our club moving forward both on and off the field.

We’re incredibly proud to have Masos as part of the Dropbears family.

Please support the businesses that support local rugby. 🍻

massive thank you to our great supporters at the Mortdale Hotel for once again getting behind the Georges River Dropbears.

After training this week, the team was treated to a feed and surprised with some awesome Bundaberg Drop Bear shirts for the playing group. Support like this goes a long way in building culture, connection and community around our club.

Grassroots rugby simply doesn’t happen without businesses and people willing to invest in local sport, local mateship and local community — and the Mortdale Hotel continue to do exactly that year after year.

We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and proud to have them as part of the Dropbears family.

If you’re looking for a place to grab a meal, watch the footy or support local businesses that support local sport — make sure you get down to the Mortdale Hotel.
One Club. Two Teams. One Family. ❤️🖤🤍

FULL TIME | DROPBEARS WIN 🐨🔥

Georges River 28 vs Sydney Harbour 19

A massive effort from the boys today against a tough Sydney Harbour outfit. After a couple of tight losses in recent weeks, the group showed real character, resilience and belief to bounce back and get the result
The response across the park was outstanding — physical in defence, composed under pressure and committed to each other for the full 80 minutes.
This one was built on effort, mateship and staying in the fight together.

Thank you to everyone who came down and got behind the boys at Lyne Park. The support means everything.

One Club. Two Teams. One Family. ❤️🖤🤍

1st Grade faced a tough contest against the Penrith Emus Rugby Club last weekend, with the scoreboard not quite going our way. The boys showed plenty of determination throughout the match and will take valuable lessons and positives into this week’s clash.

Attention now turns to this afternoon as 1st Grade take on the Sydney Harbour Oysters today at 3:15pm at Lyne Park.

Get down there and show your support for the boys.
