Last night we held our AGM, we have now filled out all our positions across the club.
President - Ally Anderson

We would like to thank all the departing committee members for their outstanding efforts in previous years and welcome all new members to the committee.

Last week was National Volunteer Week as many of you may already have known. From everyone at West Bairnsdale CC we would like to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers. From those helping with the Blasters program all the way through to our A Grade side helping organise the days, lunch’s and evening throwing the balls around with the young Blasters, this thanks also extends to those who may help with the ground, in the kitchen, running the bar and helping organising events. The club would not be able to run without these people and we cannot wait to see you all again next season! 🟩🟨

I know footy season in now fully under way and cricket is in the back of everyone’s mind but the thoughts to next season need to start soon so Wednesday 27th of May our AGM is being held.
The meeting starts at 6PM at the Grand Terminus, we are calling for all nominations for committee and all are welcome.

With the season now at a close, the club is happy to announce a big change for 2026/27 season.

Brodie Anderson has stepped up into the role of A Grade captain, he brings lots of experience into the role after being Ryan’s Vice Captain for the last 10 years. Playing plenty of cricket at higher levels and seeing the game in ways no one else is able to see. Brodie has been outstanding leader for us opening the batting as well as being one a bowler you can rely to get the job done when needed, he has collected plenty of accolades along the way, from league batting averages, to club champions and VCCL bowling awards and we hope this will continue. We wish Brodie all the best in the new role and cannot wait to see what the season brings.

Secondly to our out going captain Ryan Halford who has been leading the side for the last 10 years, Ryan has been an amazing leader of our club over this time and has led the side to 1 two day flag, 3 one day flags and has also been one of the most important players in our side winning 5 A grade club champions while captain.
A massive thanks for all you’ve given the club in this role and we cannot wait to see you continue on for us with a few good years ahead! 🟩🟨

Before we post our season wrap up, we just need to acknowledge a few more outstanding efforts by our boys in the last few weeks. All these guys deserve just as much recognition even if the season ended without any silverware, these efforts put us in the best position throughout the season to do so. Home and away season is now done and dusted! With B Grade unfortunately missing out on finals by just one game, a good season by the boys and will be looking to bounce back next year. A Grade had a poor showing with the bat this week but will be looking to turn it around next week in finals with the chance to return to the big dance. 🟩🟨

A few things on the list here all but starting with tomorrow.
Vote count is on after the cricket has finished for the day. The voting will be quick and hopefully we able to name a few new club Champions across both grades. Dinner is also $10 a head.
Then onto Sunday when the festivities carry on to the Sale Greyhounds, the bus will be leaving from city oval at 3pm with some seats still avaliable. Let anyone you know that may be free its $40 for the bus and what is sure to be a good night.
Lastly we have locked in our presentation night to be the Sunday the 15th after the semi final of cricket, more details to follow about the night but save the date. 🟩🟨
