Adductor tear rehab

Basketball related injury 5 weeks post injury

Mechanism = driving to the basket late in training

Commenced with the RICER approach (yes this is still useful to start strength work early and mitigate pain/swelling) > isometrics > concentric+eccentric > and now we are getting jumps/plyos/ sports specific drills whilst being careful on the court but not too careful 😝
The biggest challenge is the confidence and breaking the psychological barrier to re-injury.

Taking all the necessary steps to come back stronger and more resilient than before.

Thanks Shane for your assistance!

A hard thing for some is asking for help when injured and need some objectivity with the process.

Hey guys!!
I apologise I haven't posted on social media for a long time, life has been pretty busy!!
Focusing on Exercise Physiology work has taken a priority for me of late and other private work behind the scenes has taken the bulk of my time πŸ˜…πŸ˜Š

Currently Personal Training is still running with me, but at a limited capacity due to lack of available time. However, later 2025 this can open up if enough interest and people are serious about training.

We have new equipment that has been well utilised the past few months and I couldn't be happier with the gym's development. We have some exciting plans in 2025-2026 - so STAY TUNED.

Available time's for Personal Training are currently only Monday's (times can be flexible) but we are not willing to take on client's past 6.30pm due to lack of light (this will change later in the year).

If PT is not something you're interested in. We have a brand new offer with a new APP!!!

Online programming =
βœ…οΈ $8.50 per week (limited timw offer) πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ with weekly check in's and a individualised program.
OR!
βœ…οΈ $85.00 once off payment for a training program for as long as you want!!

Please send us a message if this is of interest to you. Some really great deals here!! πŸ™ƒ

Do you experience Plantar Fasciitis? 🦢

What is it?
Plantar Fasciitis is a degenrative foot condition that is one of the most common foot injuries in society.

The role of the Plantar Fascia is to serve as a shock absorber, create normal foot biomechanics and provide arch support.🦿

It is a very painful and deblitating condition that triggers symptoms in the inner arches of your feet (medial longitudinal arch). More commonly in the heel at the medial calcaneal tuberosity. πŸ’₯

Often the pain is described as a sharp localised pain at the heel. Symptoms tend to be very noticeable first thing in the morning getting out of bed or out of a chair and described as "like stepping on glass". Pain generally decreases as you warm up into movement or an activity, but does return if the activity is prolonged.

Plantar Fasicitis is an overuse injury and a range of factors influence it.

1- Obesity or being overweight

2- Pes Planus (flat feet)

3- Pes Cavus (high arches)

4- Tight calf muscles

5- Poor foot biomechanics

6- Poor footwear

7- Weak musculature and restrictions in ankle/foot movement.

8- Inadequate stretching

9- Walking in barefeet or on hard surfaces

And more!

The good news is Plantar Fasciitis can be fixed! 🩺

Corrective exercise rehab is one of many treatments that can assist and decrease your pain.
If you or someone you know is experiencing Plantar Fasciitis, please book in via booking link in BIO to get on top of such a painful injury πŸ’ͺ

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure to listen to a number of presenters in Melbourne through Sports Medicine Australia.
It was great to learn from some of the leading experts in the industry on Runners and Elite Runners and the latest research in terms of how to assess, prescribe and work effectively with other health professionals in the industry.

Happy Easter to all and have a safe weekend 😊
