Dear LJNA and Loxton NSG families
Re: Dissolution of Loxton Junior Netball Association (LJNA)
Things are changing in our area! Riverland Netball Association approved a 13’s competition last year that unfortunately didn’t go ahead due to Covid. But they are ready to go this year, fingers crossed. And Loxton Net Set GO will be offering the full Net Set GO program for children turning 5, before the 31st August 2021, to 10 years old. Due to this LJNA will not have the numbers to provide their usual competition and therefore the committee have decided to de-register the association.
LJNA registered as an association in 2002 and has provided a fantastic Saturday morning netball competition to primary school age children of Loxton and its surrounding district. While it is sad to close LJNA it is also exciting to have new and progressive changes to netball in our area. And we are confident that the combination of a full Net Set GO program and that RNA clubs Loxton Netball Club and Loxton North Netball Club will provide great opportunities for grass roots netball and beyond.
What will 2021 look like for junior netballers of Loxton?
1. Loxton NetSetGO will be available for children aged 5 to 10
How does Suncorp NetSetGO work?
Suncorp NetSetGO is Australia’s official starter program for girls and boys aged 5 to 10. It’s a chance to learn the netball basics, get outside and make some friends. For a lot of kids, this is the first time they’ll pick up a netball or chuck on a bib. It’s a learning experience. And a lot of fun.
Suncorp NetSetGO is divided up into three tiers: Net, Set and GO. Where you start depends on your age and netball experience.
As you move through the tiers, you’ll pick up more advanced netball skills. One week it might be passing drills and ball games, next it could be shooting and practice matches. All Suncorp NetSetGO sessions are led by a netball coach, using equipment built specially for kids.
2. Netballers aged 11+ are encouraged to register with our feeder teams, Loxton Netball Club or Loxton North Netball Club. For more information you can contact either club via their pages or email [email protected] or [email protected].
On behalf of Loxton Net Set GO, any parents of children that will be participating in season 2021 that would like to help please contact them via their page or email [email protected].
Thank you to those of you that have been involved in LJNA. And thank you to my predecessors. The time you have volunteered to has been greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Michelle Pannell
