About Us

Club Lorne Outdoor Education Camp is an exiting new concept in group accommodation and school camps.

We are a fun and exciting business run out of Lorne SLSC, focused on supplying Special interest groups, primary, secondary and tertiary year level students, with the most educational, challenging and fun camp experience possible. We operate from the newly constructed Lorne Surf Life Saving club located on the Lorne Foreshore Reserve. We also enjoy stunning views of pristine Loutit Bay with Airleys

Inlet Lighthouse in the distance and only a short walk to Lorne Pier. Special interest groups, primary, secondary and tertiary year level groups can now enjoy the unique experience of a camp where the breaking waves create a breathtaking backdrop by day and a soothing atmosphere to fall asleep to by night. Camp Director Phil Sutton has 20+ years experience as a PE/Outdoor Education teacher and has been a member of Lorne S.L.S.C for 30 years. Qualifications include B-ED PE/Outdoor Ed, Surf Bronze Instructors, Advanced Lifeguard Certificate, Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, Patrol Captain, I.R.B Captain, Wilderness 1st Aid Certificate, Level 2 Climbing instructors and Basic Paddling Skills Instructors. Groups can be assured of an educational, challenging, fun and rewarding experience. This unique location plays host to the iconic "Pier to Pub" swim each year. In February 2006 Lorne Surf Club was chosen as host club to the World Lifesaving Championships in which thousands of competitors from 38 countries came to Lorne to participate. The Otways National Park directly behind Lorne has a diverse Flora and Fauna including lush rainforest, towering eucalypts and spectacular waterfalls. Many bushwalks can be conducted following original logging tracks from the early 1900's. Club Lorne is fully accredited with the Australian Camping Association. Groups may approach us with confidence in terms of industry apporved best practice for safety, hygiene, catering, programmed activities, booking procedures, $10 million public liability insurance etc.

Club Lorne Camp is thrilled to be involved with Positive Start in 2022 initiative; providing additional camps, sports programs and cultural experiences to Victorian students from government or low-fee non-government schools in 2022.
Through Positive Start in 2022, Victorian students have more opportunities to attend camps with their peers and enjoy activities such as surfing, kayaking, bush walking, rope courses and much more! 👏❤️

Club Lorne Camp - We are a beach-based camp, conducted from the Lorne SLSC Clubhouse. Located directly on the magnificent Lorne foreshore reserve.🏆

We are also the surf school, conducting a learn to surf program with a large emphasis on beach safety and fun.🌊🏄🏽‍♀️🏄🏄🏾‍♂️

There are many and varied beautiful bush walks through the lush rainforest directly behind the Lorne township starting from the lifesaving club itself.🏕🦘

We also conduct sit on top kayaking where students are all fitted with wetsuits which is a great activity for the colder months.🛶

Last day of camp for Marion college from Ararat. Beautiful sun glistening on the waves as we see the completion of week 2 of our inland schools beach and surf safety education program. Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming Camperdown College back to club lorne.🏄🏽‍♀️🏄🏾‍♂️🧘‍♂️

Thanks to all the fantastic staff at club lorne camp. Surf lessons for term 1 this year are all done and dusted. Special mention also to our new cook Karen Stannard for providing great quality meals to our clients. Looks like they are all keen to come back again in future. Testament to your great work and high quality meals.🥑🥕🥞 Thanks to lorne for turning on this magnificent sunrise for all the campers to enjoy. Another magic day in lorne.
