💥 Welcome Jason Sherriff to Longford Cricket Club!

We are thrilled to welcome Jason Sherriff to the Tigers for the upcoming season.

Jason joins us with an impressive cricket résumé, including being a member of the 2023/24 Perth A-Reserve Premiership side and finishing equal second in Trevallyn's A-Grade wicket tally during the 2024/25 season.

A reliable middle-order batsman and crafty off-spin bowler, Jason prides himself on breaking partnerships and making overs disappear when his captain needs it most.

When asked what attracted him to Longford, Jason said:

"Culture and development are massive to me in sport, which is why helping out Jake was a no-brainer with the club's future plans. The foundations are there to build something very successful, with the perfect mix of youth and loyal senior players."

We're excited to have Jason on board and can't wait to see the impact he'll make both on and off the field.

🐸 Welcome Back Tyler Bennett – A-Grade Captain 2026/27

LCC is proud to announce the reappointment of Tyler Bennett as A-Grade captain for the upcoming season.

A true club champion and Life Member, Tyler's resume speaks for itself. An A-Grade MVP, he is set to reach the remarkable milestone of 200 club games this season, while also surpassing 2,000 club runs and collecting a modest 64 club wickets along the way.

After a challenging year marked by player turnover and availability issues, Frog is eager to have another crack at it and is determined to give his utmost to lead the group back towards success. His passion for the club, experience, and commitment make him the ideal person to guide the side into the new season.

🌟 Longford Cricket Club Welcomes Scott Brewer 🌟

The Longford Cricket Club is delighted to welcome Scott Brewer to our coaching group 👏

Scott brings a wealth of cricket experience and knowledge to the club. An A Grade Premiership player, Life Member of Launceston Cricket Club, former Assistant Coach at Launceston Cricket Club, and former Coach of Perth Cricket Club, Scott has built a strong reputation for developing players and fostering successful team environments.

Scott's coaching philosophy centres on personal growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.

"I love working with cricketers who have a passion to grow both as a person and as a player. Having high expectations and a reflective mindset allows me to identify areas for development and work collaboratively with players to achieve common goals. From a team perspective, this helps develop dependable role players and creates a stronger, more cohesive group."

Scott's commitment to player development, combined with his extensive playing and coaching experience, will be a tremendous asset to the Longford Cricket Club. We are excited to have him on board and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our players and club culture.

🐍 Assistant Coach Returns for 2026/27

We are thrilled to announce that Blake Cassidy will return for the 2026/27 season as Assistant Coach, Premier League Vice-Captain, and T20 Captain.

One of the competition’s premier bowlers, Blake produced a season to remember last season, claiming the prestigious Shannon Williams Medal as the club’s Best and Fairest, while also taking out both Premier League Bowling Aggregate and Bowling Average awards. His performances were further recognised with selection in the TCL Premier League Team of the Year.

“After falling short of the Grand Final last season, and not making finals in our other grades, we have a real desire to get back to where we think we can be as a club, over the past 18 months we have done some excellent recruiting off field and on field. We feel as if there is unfinished business this year!”

One of Longford Cricket Club's favourite sons is stepping up as Assistant Coach for the upcoming season! 🐯

Most know Jessie Arnol as the right-arm quick from Longford who has caused headaches for even the best batsmen over many years, but around the club we simply know him as "Ron".

Ron boasts an outstanding club record, including Life Membership at Longford Cricket Club, over 250 senior games, and sitting outright second on the club's all-time wicket-taking list.

His experience, passion for the club, and cricket knowledge make him a fantastic addition to our coaching group as we continue to build towards a successful season.

We welcome Ron into the role of Assistant Coach and look forward to seeing the impact he'll have both on and off the field.

🌟 We are excited to welcome Andrew Gower to the club 🌟

A Level 3 accredited coach, Andy brings a wealth of experience to Longford. He has coached Mowbray, Launceston and Legana to premiership success, was the inaugural coach of the Great Northern Raiders men's program, and has coached the Raiders girls for the past two seasons.

He has also been heavily involved in Tasmanian pathway programs over a number of years, helping develop young cricketers across the state.

As a player, Andy was part of five A Grade premierships with Mowbray as a leg-spinner and lower-order batsman. His outstanding contribution to cricket has seen him inducted into the NTCA Hall of Fame and awarded Life Membership at Mowbray Cricket Club.

"I'm looking forward to working with Longford and helping develop players across all grades."

Cant wait to see what Jake Williams, yourself and the other coaches can do with group 💪
