Shapland Swim School Logan Reserve

Shapland Swim School Logan Reserve 3 Children per class, Kind, Caring, Patient instructors. We love what we do! Thomas 'Pop' Shapland was teaching swimming in 1938. Chris Shapland.

In 1947 his son Bernard 'Bernie' Shapland and his wife Dorothy 'Tuppy' Shapland secured the lease of the Toowoomba municipal baths and from 1947 until the present day there has always been a Shapland Teaching or Coaching swimming. Our aim is to supply high quality semi-private swimming lessons in a purpose built teaching magna mineral teaching pool. 3 pupils per class with a maximum of 2 classes in the pool at any one time ensure your child gets more individual attention. A climate controlled viewing area allow parent and siblings to watch the swimming lesson without distraction the pupils. Giving children a life long life saving skill which helps make them safer in the water for the rest of their lives is what motivates me every day.

No red eyes. No dry skin. No shivering after lessons 💧

Our toasty 32°C Magna Mineral pools are designed to create a calm, comfortable experience for every child in the water. The mineral water is gentle on eyes, skin and hair, without the harsh feel of a typical chlorine pool.

For children with sensitive skin or little ones still building confidence in the water, it can make such a difference. The water feels softer, the pools stay beautifully clear and the warm temperature helps children relax and enjoy their lessons.

It’s all part of creating a swimming experience that feels comfortable from the moment you walk in 💙

Come and feel the Shapland difference.

Did you know floating is one of the most important water safety skills a child can learn?

If a child ever finds themselves in trouble in the water, being able to roll onto their back and float can help them stay calm, keep breathing easily and wait for help.

It’s a simple skill, but in an emergency it can make all the difference.

Water safety at home is so important, especially for babies and toddlers!

Here are a few simple but vital tips to help keep your child safe:
🚿 Stay Close at Bath Time Never leave your baby alone in the bath, not even for a second. Always stay within arm’s reach, accidents can happen in just moments.

⛑️ Know CPR & First Aid Learning CPR and basic first aid could save a life. It’s a must for all parents and carers.

🔥 Check the Water Temperature Set your water heater to below 39°C to avoid scalds and always test the bath water before your child gets in.

🏊‍♀️ Secure Your Pool If you have a pool, install a 4-sided fence with a self-latching gate. It’s one of the best ways to prevent unsupervised access.

👀 Supervision is Everything Whether it’s the bath, a pool, or even a puddle, your undivided attention is the best way to keep your child safe.

🌀 Empty Water After Use Always empty buckets, bathtubs, and baby pools straight after use. Even small amounts of water can be a risk to little explorers.

Consistency is the secret sauce to learning how to swim! The more often swimmers dive in, the quicker they build confidence, strength and solid technique.

We always recommend taking more than one class a week, here’s why:

🪼 Master skills quicker through regular, focused practice
🪼 Build muscle memory faster
🪼 Boost water confidence and overcome fears faster
