Good Morning everyone
The team at Wonga Lea Stables was evacuated on Thursday, we got all horses out and ourselves in a mad rush! Thanks to all those who helped with floats trucks and trailers!
But the the big twist Pete and I decided we arent going to lose our dream property, with the CFA stretched to their limits the houses in Jefferies road pulled together and we fought the firefrom the neighbours property with our own water carts. It was really unbelievable what the community can achieve.
We are physically and mentally exhausted and it’s something I never want to go through again.
Pete never gave up for one sec, he just kept on going Hun you are just one of a kind. To Guy and Nicky thank you will never be enough you took us in like we were your own, you opened your house to us and supported us, you watered us and kept us going for 5 days so we could keep going.
Nicky you are amzing person and you comforted our girls saying everything will be ok and we just need to stick together, they trusted what you said and took great comfort in that. Life long friends. Alice thank you for taking on the stallions and caring for them again you were amazing.
Thank you to everyone that called and messaged. It was extremely overwhelming.
We still have spot fires going on but we are dealing with them as they pop up.
Back to business as usual from tomorrow all ponies are home safe and sound with us ❤️
Big hugs to those who lost everything or even something, if we can help at all with yards or paddocks please get in touch 🥰
